Republic Gunship Clone wars era (Custom)
I was going through my old star wars legos and found the old republic gunship set. I had to rebuild it my way to make it more accurate. Its not perfectly accurate but I do Love the way it turned out! The blast doors look better on some other peoples mocs'.I just had to fill the space with mine and they still didn't reachthe end. I still like it though. The gunship does not detatch and open up in the front anymore. Sorry Lego I have never saw a gunship in any film open up in the fron and detatch it self and fly away. Good idea though I did not want that function. It has one sole purpose and that is to quickly land down troops and get out. The gunship is very similar to a Huey Helicopter in the Vietnam era, that is why I find the republic gunship so fascinating.
About this creation

In the original the doors opened up on a hinge like system. I used the same system but put on larger doors. Massive amounts of space for clones and Jedi. Side gun doors removed and clone gunners are inside the ship. Also used to transport the wounded out of battle.

The gunship is perfect for unloading troopers behind the enemy lines or even rescue operations are able to be executed using these Gunships.

Quoting Tartom 500 Great custom if you look closely you can see that the first lego gunship is in the design but you've also made it with the new gunship witch only came out two years ago. hope you build a second and produce instructions. Thanks for sharing this awesome model.
I tried keeping it close looking to the old version of the gunship. I still really like the new versions doors sliding open from both sides is pretty cool.

Quoting iAm4Christ About the cockpit flying off, according to WookiePedia, the cockpit flying off was an escape pod sort of thing (I don't really know why).... Nice custom though!
The cockpit still detaches, I was refering to the gunship Opening up and the Base of the ship being left behind as a mini base or something, It doesn't have that function as I used that space for a medic station on the ship.

really nice i like how you changed it up, and especially how you used those chains as something for the troops to hold onto. 10/10
