About this creation

Uspez Morbo's recent Joe mocs were so cool I had to get in on the action, and with lots of friendly encouragement from him, I was sold. Oh the hours spent drooling over my G.I.Joe catalogue when I was a kid! I wish I still had that blasted thing...Anyway, this Devilfish was one of the few sets my brother and I had so it seemed a good choice to try to recreate in Lego. Actually, it turned out being only slightly larger than the original toy. This site was a huge help in at least attempting to get the proportions right. I would've liked to build a minifig-sized version to go along side it but it didn't eventuate. It's quite a fragile model-nowhere near as much fun to throw around as the real thing :)

The engines rotate but do not pivot up like the original.

Sorry Shipwreck, it's too big for ya!

The hull is partially true to the original, minus those orange torpedoes (no parts for those).

Thanks mate! Minifig scale is a bit trickier to get the shaping and details right. I try to build my Joe mocs 1:1 scale to the toys. Thanks for your query :) Happy building!

VERY nice! Although, I don't remember this vehicle (I collected the toys, read the comics, and watched the cartoons(, it looks great. You TOTALLY have to build a H.I.S.S. tank next!

This is so faithful to the original, don't worry about those torpedoes: I found that orange isn't a missile friendly color at all even with the help of bricklink! Oh and there's Shipwreck! So much cool.
