Battlestar Galactica: Battle of the Tylium Asteroid!
An asteroid, rich in Tylium ore, is discovered by a Raptor reconnaissance mission. It could supply the Fleet with enough fuel to last several years. However, the Cylons have already established a mine on the asteroid, and it is heavily fortified. Starbuck designs a plan to take it!
About this creation
Two Civilian Freighters jump into the Asteroid Field, and begin open wireless communications, pretending to be unaware of the Cylons.

The Cylons send a squadron of Raiders to intercept them.

Galactica jumps in just beyond the Cylons' DRADIS range.

Monitoring the Galactica's open com signals, the Cylons' redeploy, believing the Civilian ships to be a decoy.

But beneath the Freighter's cargo container there is a second Colonial force.

The Viper Squadron flies low over the Tylium Asteroid, hoping to catch the Cylons unprepared.

The Base is heavily defended by both flack antiaircraft batteries and missiles.

Apollo flies to the mine entrance to get a closer look.

"I'm goin' in!"

"They can't get a firing solution on me....I see the target...."

"Galactica, Apollo, looks like Dr. Baltar was right on...Mission Accomplished!"

Thanx, I'm sure you've figured out by now from some of my comments to other mocers that I'm really fascinated with all sorts of geometric designs! :)

Quoting StoveTop Creator Love those geodesic sphere thingys and actually... the whole mine moc! Also, as always, your wonderful photoshopping!
Thanks! Not that different from shield generators atop an Imperial Star Destroyer, but that's what they looked like in the show. Here's the link to the BSG geek site. http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Cylon_Refinery

Quoting Ruud Hoogmoed You're right, great episode! A lot of work to get it all done, I'm not surprised the parts are getting at a low level :-). Looking forward to see more from you!
Thanks again, this one was a lot of work, lots of different builds and photo trickery. But I was able to recycle some things into Caprica City. The big building all the way on the right, (I'll add a close up of it this weekend) is made from the missile launcher standing on end and the processor that Apollo blows up sitting edgewise. Saved some time there. How's your project? Time for some updates!

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 the pic you comment the defenses, could have used a grey baseplate, other than that,it s just awesome! so...the series are over are they? they inspired you for a while, time to show them how it s done! good show!
Thanks! You know, I had built a Cylon base a while ago on a baseplate, and it was just too difficult to line it up with a rocky ground cover. Backgrounds are a lot easier than getting something to look like its part of the landscape. And with this, I only built one launcher, one gun, and one each of the other things, whatever they are. I just kept moving them around the central building, taking pics along the way. Then added them all together. Pretty crafty, I thought :) Thanks again!
