About this creation
In the past year, all I've seemed to build is contest entries. Now I don't always post my Flickr MOCs here as they may only be a single photo. Likewise I often don't post my full MOCpages creations to Flickr as they tend to be story based and I don't think Flickr is suited to that kind of presentation that we enjoy here.
So without further ado, a quick presentation of some of my extra-curricular activities outside of our pages.

This was an entry for a Eurobricks contest. The idea was to create an 8x8 vig to showcase one of the series 1 minifigs WITHOUT using the fig in question. I went for the zombie. It had to be a town based vig, so I imagined Bob the survivalist, living out past the old Octan plant. Convinced that it was the end of the world, he started baiting zombie traps with turkey. This one was not a winner.

A Chuck Norris contest on Lego Contest Network, Flickr. The idea was to recreate one of the many Chuck Norris Jokes out there on the net. I chose "When Chuck Norris was born, the only person who cried was the doctor - NEVER slap Chuck Norris.
I do like this for the parts usage, especially the prince of persia headress as a baby blanket. Still waiting to hear how this one did.

A winner! This was for a contest on Brickhorizon called 'IMake the lyrics'. The object was to represent a lyric or portion of lyrics from the song of our choice. I used a portion of Enter Sandman by Metallica:
Hush little baby, don’t say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
It’s just the beasts under you bed
In your closet, in your bed.
This one won me three of the series 1 minifigs - not bad for an evening's work!

Finally, one I have just entered on Flickr. This was a Deadliest Warrior contest for the Lego Contest Network. The object was to create a vig or diorama of a 'Deadliest Warrior' style matchup - You know the TV show narrated by the chap from 300? If you've not seen it, suffice it to say they do matchups like 'Pirate vs Knight' and 'Alexander the Great Vs Attila the Hun' based on experiments where they seem to chop a lot of pigs up with massive weapons, and computer simulations. It's hilarious.
Thinking outside the box, and as this contest had points awarded for originality, I decided to go for factions that NOBODY would come up with - Santa and his little helpers Vs Toys Gone Bad.
If I can win some free stuff, great. I currently don't have much spare cash at all with my kids syphoning my salary away and trying to get holidays in too. The other great thing is a contest entry will no doubt force me to build something different and think a bit clever.
I hope you like and thanks for looking.

Really sweet! I love the Chuck Norris one the best personally. I've heard that phrase before and it perfectly matched the build. Great! |

Thank you all for the nice comments. In related news, the Deadliest Warrior Dio and the Chuck Norris Vig both won! Well, I tied for first place in the Chuck Norris contest with a really good diorama. Prizes ahoy! A selection of fine prototype and rare colour Brickarms I believe. Very nice. |

Mate, your skill with the vig overwhelms me. How you can get so much expression, story and characterisation into such a tiny surface area and one photo. Teach me my master, mould me, shape me, share with me your secrets. I am your humble apprentice.
Flattery will get you everywhere. I find having ideas above my station and outside the limits of my collection helps.

Nice collection of MOCs. I like the Enter Sandman one best. I think it's because it has a sense of movement and excitement in it. |

I really love the use of the turban as a baby blanket, that's pure genius. If I was running the contest, you'd win just for that. |

Don't let my presence in the chatroom put you off. Hahaha... ha! There's something about that little cupboard in the Chuck Norris vig that just inescapably screams "hospital furniture", but I can't put my finger on what? |
