My Entry for the 2010 MOC Madness at FBTB.
About this creation
This was a MOC madness for me indeed. I started this ship in early July and finished it yesterday. The build was a real struggle and involved a lot of trial and error. I started having the shape of a Magnaguard in mind and came up with this! Besides all the negative stuff there is some good stuff as well: It's my second biggest build (NCS freighter is the biggest) and the biggest creation in minifig-scale. It has a lot of cool features and is able to transport 6 figures (+1).
The challenge was to build a bounty hunter ship, for a bounty hunter and at least one prisoner.

Name: The Abyssal Rider
Owner: Tief Mantha (bounty hunter)

Features:
-Opening cockpit
-hidden missiles
-removable section to open the prisoner's compartment
-rescue capsule (for 1 fig)
-cockpit holds 2 figs
-prisoner's compartment holds 4 figs

opened cockpit

The hidden missiles

The prisoner's compartment

The underside. You can see the rescue capsule here.

You can separate the rescue capsule from the ship

open it and put the bounty hunter in it.

cockpit with 2 figures

The Bounty Hunter, Tief Mantha

Tief Mantha and a Gungan prisoner.

To show you all the features, I've made a little video. Be sure to watch it!

I hope you like it!

That is a very striking ship! I feel it would need more weapons than a couple of hidden missiles, but putting more on would probably compromise the aesthetics, and it is certainly is a beauty.

Congrats on MOTD. I could have sworn I commented on this before but I guess not. Beautiful lines. You have a real nack for creating volume without looking bulky. I can only imagine the challenges with getting this together. I love the playability that it has. My only small suggestion would have been to add some details or greebling inside the air intakes.

clean shape and nice functionality, I really like white parts because you just can do anything with it (availability), but what you did isn't just a question of 'how many rounded white bricks I have?', it's tricky and very creative, so good..

Quoting Jonathan Ladner This is so awesome! i love the big intake things there just ammazing! i dont really see how it can hold 7 people though :P
Thanks! The cockpit holds two people (as you can see in the video), the rescue capsule holds 1 person and the prisoner's compartment holds 4. The shot of that part doesn't show the capacity that well, but it's actually 6x7, here's a better view: http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=&id=/user_images/26951/1283274965m
Quoting Espen Stalder That should be a set! It has so many playability features. Is the other guy in the cockpit your sig-fig?
