Once a detective in the Poliaz Guard, Gratigan rose to the role of Toa.
About this creation
Name: Gratigan Gender: Male Race: Matoran Group The Toa Vanembar Title(s) Brother Element: Fire Home: Poliaz Kanohi: Great Kakama, Mask of Speed. MOC Status: Disassembled
(3OH!3 - Streets of Gold)
Gratigan was Xalos' deputy as a matoran on the island of Poliaz. He had less of a public role, and was crafty, running detective work for the island guard. He and Soleku had had a loving relationship as matoran ever since Gratigan had saved Soleku's best friend, Eki, from a dire hostage negotiation. This relationship continued with them as toa. Gratigan also knew Gringat, who more than often helped with the more forensic aspects of the job.
In personality, Gratigan was fond of drink, music, and could be extremely smarmy when he'd got something right. Eccentric, he kept a collection of ancient currency under his bed, and was extremely extroverted in public, seemingly knowing everyone on the island.
When the call was put out to the matoran of Poliaz to form new toa guardians, Gratigan applied along with Xalos, and Soleku followed with him. Gratigan became agile as a toa, and his mask was activated rather than him recieveing a new one. He fought with a pair of shuriken which returned to his hands when he flicked his wrists in a certain way. He also enjoyed kicking things. Gratigan was also the only Toa Vanembar who didn't habitually carry a supply bag around, as this would have slowed him down. In the team, he normally played the role of scout.
Gratigan's death occured after he was crushed by the talons of a Kanohi Dragon trying to rescue an injured Toa Abarium. Abarium, presumably, also died with Gratigan, although Abarium's body was never recovered. After Gratigan's death, Xalos almost killed himself trying to resurrect him with his Bone powers. Soleku went into mourning, threatened to kill Xalos herself, and then left the team for ten years.
Full body shot.
Brandishing his shuriken.
Side shot.
Back. Lord knows where I got that tan plate from.
Crouching. Gratigan, unlike most MOCs, can actually bring his knees up to his chest.
Using his mask power to run at almost 200 Kio-per-hour. ((400 km/h)
Limbering up.
Gratigan with Xalos.
Gratigan was originally made by Josh Barron after I invented his character, although Josh never posted the MOC for me to see, so Gratigan is based entirely out of my own mind.
I've always wanted to try a Tan-Red colour scheme. I like it.
I actually made Gratigan's matoran form before now, but my brother cannibalised it in order to build something he didn't finish.
Quite a lot of his armour is actually system pieces from the Atlantis sets.
He shares the Star-Foot shoulder design with Xalos only. This is something to do with the fact that they were both guards, and had matching armour as matoran too.
Also, Gratigan's mask wiggles around. I kept it that way, because he's the sort of character who would have ended up like that all the time anyway.

I think I'm a bit far from being as good as Berial... that guy is ASTROUNDING, but, thanks. :) Why is everyone buttering me up all of a sudden? XD Haven't ever had this sort of response from you!
2 main reasons, the end result on akara, and my score for the isle of thorns contest XD! Also, I gave u my everlasting respect since I saw u won shadow's gear contest, read the comments on ratcatcher. And.... apparently u are my 2nd fav builder, cause yuri barely comments on my creations x.x and shadow, and many others.....
Oh and apparently i have no life x.x
awesome work man, i know where those big tan pieces come from. they come form a 2001 mars mission set called te excavator, it came with two of those pieces which since i have it i plan to use on an upcoming moc revamp.
Awesome moc, but I don't see much of a point in keeping him together if he's dead. Actually, it's kind of ironic that the still living Jimi Stringer has been torn apart while the dead guys are still built. I know it's not my decision, of course, and I'm sorry if I've offended you. I'm just giving my opinion.

Sweet moc Gringat. The use of the atlantis pieces is well done. Theres lots of little greebles too. I think you're the king of humanoids at this point.
Greebles are good. And, cheers for that ^^ What about Sam I Am though?

Sorry, this comment isn't about your MOC. I just wanted to tell you Gringat that you are my role model and I aspire to build like you some day. Thank you for being such a great builder and a nice guy. God bless.
You too ^^' I've gone all blushy.

Great color scheme, and nice use of Atlantis parts. You're the best bio-character designer I know.
You just envy me. Admit it. XD

Your MOCing skill amazes me, when my talent only gets 16 votes on 1 moc, 1 day, 1 day i will be as great as you and berial, and yuri....
