About this creation
The Renegade is my latest (and largest) MOC project. I'm having to spend a lot more time on it than previous cerations, and put in equally more effort. So because most of the complaints I received on my F-109 Visigoth would've been far more easily corrected during construction, I've decided to let you guys in on the entire design process.
The Renegade is supposed to be my "sig ship" for the Nova Refuge story I plan on eventually making into a lego comic. I've mostly used peices from the new Slave I, and inspiration from Super_Sniper's Cerberus.

The overall view, building phase 1. Here you can see the main similarities and differneces between the Renegade and the Cerberus. The primary difference being the one deck design.

The doorway leading to the engine room. It's been slightly modified since this was taken, but not enough to warrent a new pic.

The doorway removed. Here you can see the engines themsevles, made out of the engines off of the new A-wing set. Why the unoriginallity? Mostly because this was the one part of the set I couldn't dismantle. I think it looks pretty cool.

Here we see the table and food preparation area. Once again kudos go to Super_Sniper and his uber-sink.

The belly of the beast. Here we can see the vertical lift engines and a possible location for a vehicle attachment hardpoint.

The Renegade, like other ships of her class, was originally a long-range cargo hauler. Then the First Crucis Lancers came along and converted an entire fleet into dropships. Then Cervantes Osis escaped in the Renegade and converted it back into a cargo ship, with a few "modifications". In any of these three forms it needed a lot of hauling capacity, and this shot of it holding the two Stinger hoverbikes I made proves the point.

I've always liked the idea of having the weapons recessed into the hull, and this pic shows exactly how I accomplished this.

Building Phase 3. I've started adding the roof, which is going to be kinda tricky cosidering that there are two levels to it.

Oh dear God! If I'd known the pic was so blurry I'd have retaken it, sorry. It still shows the beds and air-scrubber I added.

I didn't want to show off the engines so soon, because I'm planning on putting at least one more on the back of each cargo hold. Anyway, the engine shroud removed.
