pre - GAIA fighter - 'Condor'
An old pre-GAIA fighter, which could reach and maintain orbit for no more than a handful of hours.
About this creation
The Condor was useful for planetary defense roles circa 5800AD. During testing, one such fighter was fitted with extra fuel and oxygen and successfully reached the moon...

thanx dude, yeh that lamp just blared through nicely and I just had to go with that shot as the cover. Oh, and thanx for cranking this one up to 50, my fisrt Moc ever to do that!

Got to agree with Yuri on the figs issue, but this one's still a winner in my book. It has a great "set" feel to it, and I love the color work with the black. Cody gave you a serious run for your money, but the quality pics put it over the top when forced to decide. Congrats...some nice work!

Quoting Heath 'kik36' Flor Unfortunately I am not overly familiar with the Blacktron and classic space themes/sets. However, your builds make me really bummed out I never had any. I will have to look into getting a few. I'm gonna have to check Cody's if he's giving you such a good run for your money.
hehe, yeh well I kind of took the category as a general direction rather than as law and have thus built stuff that isn't all too recognizable as Blacktron 1 or 2. I kind of took the 3 to mean, do something different, and did. So this is probably a lousy advertisment for the original lines, Cody's stuff look much more like the classic sets. Oh well, cheers for looking though, that plane and space shuttle are two of the sweetest mini-fig scale flyers I have ever made!

Quoting Yuri Fassio You know, I think in the end it was the fact that your figs don't have a definite uniform that tipped the scale (that, and the giant "B" on that gal's chest in pic 13. That was an eyesore). If you had more of that cool torso in pic 15 who knows...
hehe, yeh I was at a real loss for mini-figs on this one. I have 1 Blaktron 1 fig, amd 1 Blacktron 2 fig, and just had no idea what to do, and then got so cuaght up in MOc making, I really did just overlook it, so I wasn't surprised it got picked up, especially considering I usually do take some pride in my mini-figs. Hehe, Oh well, it is often the case with me, I will do something 80% to it's potential, and later wonder what might have been!

Quoting Yuri Fassio I have decided. Sorry man, I voted for Cody. Hey! On the plus side, I might get to see YOU in the side-ganes instead of cody! Good luck with Bones and Mark.
hehe, yeh, making a Phipson build or something isn't it? Should be quite funny, yeh I kind of knew I was trouble as soon as I saw Cody stuck to a very dicsiplined series of sets. Credit to him, cos if he wasn't such a good builder, I would never have thought I needed to stray from the more simple fun cs stuff. I kind of took the category as a suggestion rather than as, well, a category. LOL, there's always next year, and I'm glad you liked that plane, it look just beautiful on the table, probably my fave Moc yet, though it really has nothing in common with Blacktron, oops! Cheers mate...

Quoting Yuri Fassio I'm having difficulties in judging this, so I'll organize my thoughts. Hopefully, trying to explain you guys might help me make a decision. Parrington, your MOCs are very well built (I'd say there are some of the best MOCs on your page here), and the color scheme is original and cool. Highlights of your entry are the... various stuff icluding the asymmetric fighter in pic 14, the awesome city/space mixed base and the plane. However, this entry lacks a certain "nostalgic" feeling, your fig design was indecisive at best, and a few MOCs didn't look like "space" stuff at all (the "plane" and the "sports car"). The lack of a description didn't help me in judging (and you neither) but it wasn't really an issue. All in all, you may have outbuilt Cody, but he outthinked you. I like his entry more.
Yeh, very apt comment, I thought the same thing when I saw his stuff. I knew he could build well, so I decided I was going to make sure I didn't get blown out of the water by doing fun little cs stuff, and went for as you say, some of my best builds even if not very cs, and then he went and did the cs stuff himself! I think I was so concerned with going out with my head held high, I kind of might have made it happen! Oh well, have fun deciding, I know I'd hate to on this one!

My friend these are some truly high quality builds. Each ship has its own unique personality and the base looks right out of box set. One thing though, I don't see your link to Cody G! They're the bane of my existence and I would hate to see you get DQ'ed for such a technicality. One of us has to make it to R3 to pimp G.A.I.A. into the upper echelons of MOCdom!

hehe, yeh cheers, just checked you out, and that orange was a good idea, never thought of it. Im glad you also went original, sure those lime greens on flikr looked great, but it was nice to see two new schemes done by our humble selves, best of luck also...

Quoting Cody G Yikes... I'm loving that color schemes, I almost went with some blue myself!
hehe, how's your going mate? Yeh, I wanted to do a dark scheme and have always loved blue and black, even if I have never shown it. That said, lime green with black etc is alot more striking, I can't wait to see what you came up with. I might add another couple and try tidying the age up before posting it. Good luck dude...

Quoting Daz Hoo I think you accomplished your assignment pretty well there! I love the color scheme you choosen and all the vehicles that you made. That base looks lile something LEGO themselves could have easely made (if your theme existed). The 918 fighter is awesome, but my personal favorite is that last ship (the number 2). Amazing design there! I just love the shape and the fact that it looks like it has quite a roomy interior. Good luck with the olympics!
Thanx mate, I have a snealking susp[icion Cody is going to blow me out of the water, but I just decided to do some real calssic stuff I liked. That's a great theme you got going there. I too like the canopy (looks like you got a hit there), but also the classic-space-meets-blacktron overall feel to the builds. Car's cool too, with the hoses and the large wheels (I believe I have some of those lying around somewhere too). And I very much like the guns on that last ship.
