Hi friends, we're back again after a long time off (once more). But guess what, we returned with a new addition to our garage. This time we leave the sunny south of Italy and go all the way up north to the other end of Europe.
About this creation
Sweden... home of the moose, Pippi Långstrump, Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd (better known as IKEA) and also a handful of car brands. In the face of the rough Scandinavian climate it didn't come as a big surprise that Volvos or Saabs are quite sturdy - and have the charme of a battle tank. Even more surprising is the fact, that one of the ultimate sportscars of today comes from this country. Oh, did I say ultimate sportscar? That's fairly understated - it is a true hypercar!
The brand bears the name of it's founder Christian Erland Harald von Koenigsegg... but "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson had a different idea about that: "I think 'Koenigsegg' is Swedish for 'Oh no, my head's just exploded...!'" Maybe he's pretty close with that, considering the steam hammer of an engine bolted to the back of your seat: a 4.7 liter twin-supercharged V-8 with tremendous 806 bhp propels this flounder of the roads near the magical barrier of 400 kph / 250 mph! That is the very exclusive terrain of a Bugatti Veyron or the SSC Ultimate Aero TT. Indeed, the offshoot "Koenigsegg CCXR Edition" reached a top speed of 417 kph / 259 mph...
Anyway, let's talk about the LEGO® -model; for further info on the real car I recommend the paper on ultimatecarpage.com.
The famous & patented "dihedral synchro-helix" actuation doors... a mixed blessing between cool show-off factor & the risk of badly scratching them on curbs
If you are a fan of ear-deafening noise and head winds that try to scalp you, you may get rid of that tiny lightweigt roof and stow it under the bonnet...
Doors again...it's so much fun to open them, close them, open them, close them, open them, close the*giggle*
A very sturdy chassis was required to prevent this "open skeleton" from bending or breaking...
The huge bonnet gives us free access to the CCX's heart:
Just have to love that asymmetrical air scoop
To achieve the beforementioned high performance, the engine needs cool air on the one hand and must get rid of hot air on the other, leading to a cleft but aerodynamically optimized body.
The roof as well as the two humps behind the seats channel air directly into the air duct.
Passengers like it cool, too. The bonnet holds a small air-con scoop.
Welcome to a world of carbon fiber, aluminum and Alcantara® built around LCDs and a six-speed manual gearbox.
Floormats show the "Koenigsegg" logo
Well, that's it... oh wait, thanks to multimedia I have two (rather bad lit) videos for you to show the functions "in action". I have to apologize it's not in 3D... but we're working on it ;-)
I hope you enjoyed this new creation and thanks for your patience. Comments and critics are much appreciated as your input helps us to have a better output (on MOCs, of course!)
Excellent! From the top, I actually thought it was a real Koenigsegg CCX! Even from close up, it's amazing how you used Lego to make it! The CCX stickers also are a nice touch! The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior, and the engine bay is alse very nice, although it looks a bit bland compared to the rest of the car. (don't worry, it's just because everything else on your car is just perfect...) And nice doors! I bet they're a lot sturdier than my efforts... as well as the roof, which you can store in the trunk (shaped beautifully) ... it fondly reminds me of the AUTOART Koenigsegg. So, again, brilliant job, and keep that effort up! <Komioh Ransack>
~LG, Marc
Finally another fantastic model from you guys! The Side scoops are beautifully shaped, and your techniques on the windshield are great. Too many things to compliment! One critique I have would be the use of stickers in some places, but I understand that some things are just too difficult to shape with bricks. Thanks for the comment on my Enzo by the way; I would love to see another FXX from you guys, and I have plenty of other projects lined up before I try my own at this scale, so don't worry! Good luck and happy building!
Ich hab ja schon so manchen irgendwie verbockten Versuch an einem Lego-Koenigsegg gesehen, inklusive meinen eigenen, aber das hier ist schon die Koenigsklasse (Ha, Wortspiel)! Super gemacht, I love it.
Fantastic car, simply amazing. So nicely shaped and still with all these working features! You did a good job on the windshield too, simple but elegant. But be careful with the use of stickers (for example over the headlights). I only use them when there is absolutely NO other way to make the slope or curve. But it's your car and your hobby so you can ignore this ;-). But I think you know what I mean. And the result is fabulous, sooo.....
Awesome CCX. The roof, the magnificent doors and beautiful engine. This is one of your best ones. The shape is very good and the engine is a masterpiece. The doors are very good, just like the real ones. And the idea with the roof is also just like the realone very good. You even have a single windscreen whiper on the front window.
Keep building my friend and making these awesome cars.
Amazing MOC! I've seen this the very first time you posted it, but I had to think of something appropriate to say/write here. But sorry, I have no words to describe how beautiful and well executed this MOC is...

I´m living only a couple of miles away from the location of the Koenigsegg factory. The execution of this build is nothing else but excellent! I´m very proud of swedish engineering! 5/5
