The last weeks i often reads something about "I will leave mocpages", "my time has come to say goodbye" or something like that. And when i read the messages i cannot understand their decisions.
If i create a car, train, house .etc... i will create it for me.Not for other.I must like it when it´s done.
Ok, i share it here with other and someone can tell me his opinion about (inclusive "I like it), but i would never build something only for get a lot of smilies here. It´s nice to hear how i can make details better or critism.THAT´S why i post it here.I get inspired by other builder and sometimes they get inspired by me.I think that is why Sean give us the chance to post our creations here. To learn from other.....
I feel a minority on MOCpages can be a bit heavy handed with the criticism and some of it comes across as very arrogant. I can take criticism but I think it does need to be backed up with a positive and certainly be tactful. This is meant to be a fun site and I think some people get a bit big headed and lose sight of this fact.
I agree that people should make models that please themselves and not build for a public. That in itself is the height of arrogance.
I quite like Star Wars and I am aware of Halo but I feel that building something in those ranges is a guaranteed smiley winner.
I've seen some quite poor builds but because they are "star wars" they somehow make it to MOC of the day (I'm only talking about a small minority).
I will stop ranting now.
Cool, check out my naked princess leia fabuland AT-AT vignette.
I'm relatively new here at MOCpages, but I know what you mean. Well it's nice if you got comments, but I'm in the same mood like Ape and Firas here. It's better you got a comment without a smily but with tips and suggestions how to improve your model.
So and now - comment my mocs and give them a 5 or ... *lol*
Personally, I wouldn't mind to give comment AND smiley even if someone ask me to do so(because mostly they do say 'please' and a smiley is just one click away).I agree with you to get more communicative feedback and I can stand criticism. What I don't like is someone insulting my creation and don't say anything further in order to make it better.
Coooool! Check out my MOCs!!! Just kidding, I think I'm going to agree with Ape fight, who I LOVE to get comments from, for the reason he mentioned, "Positive feedback", so you can improve your work. Thanks for sharing. ps. I don't like tat "sweet" comment thingy myself.
Couldn't agree more. Getting 'I like it's is great, but personally I much prefer a constructive comment. The people who post 'cool! plz comment on my xxxx' and suchlike don't deserve any comments themselves, as the only reason they comment on other peoples' MOCs is to ask for a comment on theirs. Make the effort to comment on MOCers creations (honestly, saying good points and bad points) *without* asking for anything back and you will get loads of comments yourself - what goes around comes around.
People on this site and on the internet in general tend to be obsessed with themselves. They think they're awesome, and everything they do is great, and if other people don't lavish praise on them they get upset. And then they throw a hissy fit and run off and swear never to return. Look at this, it's so accurate to kiddies it frightens me: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder#Diagnosis
