mobile cyber lab
this is my cyber lab or lego collection if you like! ATTENTION...this is also...and mostly, a COOP TOOL!!!
About this creation
AS COOP, or improve on this design!
it leads to better stories!
...and less trouble!
ask my girlfriend! lol!

i did this because it seems to be the latest trend to explain our own sorting and storage systems!
i don t sort by color, rather by fonction.
notice that my biggest containers have wheels,i have to move the lab from the bedroom each time i build something,i envy the lucky guys that have their own creation quarters!
so here we go,deep in the cyber lab!

the lego education plastic containers, very practical and it looks good!

i use one for the biggest instructions,as i keep them all in single copy...
[i often buy 2 of each set for creative freedom].

this is my slopes container

buildings doors and windows with frames.

exotic colored 2 wide bricks,

regular colored 2 wide bricks.

all colors and sized 2 and more wide plates,

my 'props'container...
all the pieces attached to a theme or future building project!
kept in whole or partial status,i find this system very practical, whenever i start a new creation i know i have some pieces already built to work around!
very good for inspiration too!

my crossbeam container, another lego education container for basic pulley learning,
sealed and sturdy!

and of course my gem...
the e-lab natural ressource power kit!!!

as i said before,i use it to store most of my technics small parts!

can t wait until i get a second kit! i just love it! [discontinued]2011

ok! so now this is what should interest most of you fellow creators!
the city layout plan,as i said before,it s 65% done,we can see this here! 2011 90%
there is still a lot to do though! [still]

a closer look at it! see better?

everything in yellow means it s done !

i m begining to see the light a little,i found that it s quite long to do what i aimed for in the first place! [still so]2011

this is what i mostly move all the time![can t wait to get a house!]

i m still missing storage containers ,
so i use this lego box in the meantime! [now gone] 2011

here! let s see the goodies inside!

lets see, i have my greenery pot[no pun intended,or did i?]
my long studless plates, and snot parts, round and thin slopes, small arms parts,
frameless doors and vehicles windows, small props, and grey slopes.

here we have the minifigs, and minifigs parts, some gates and more doors, some openable parts and doors!

minifig parts and animals.

oh oh! what s in there?

the motorcycles and cars of cybercity! [now in plastic containers] 2011

the trains and trucks of the city!

in there, lies the reason you can see this today! the end of my dark age!

ta taaa! my nxt project! with his friends ,pump and repump!
i m waiting on my pneumatic gauge pressure kit to continue,as i had problems making a performing compressor!

right now,it sits there just like a doll! lol! i sarcasticly call it the nxt doll, since it does nt go anywhere!

here an attempt at a compressor, does it show?

the main storage units!

ok! so the first drawers are for technics parts and small detail parts,

the second row is for technics spokes, and exotic colored 1 wides any lenght,

the third row is yellow-blue 1 wides and 1 wide [plates any lenght]

the forth is red 1 wides, technics beams and others,

the fifth is 1 wides white blocks, trans clear parts, and small city wheels, and technics and nxt stuff!

let s have a better look shall we?

the sixth row is inverted slopes,[any color]vehicles windows and windshields, specialized parts,

here is a better view of it all!

technics parts,and aircraft parts mostly!

here is the above stated stuff!

and the last drawers! full of wheels of almost all sizes!and detail parts again!

last, but, not least, the train tracks! [now in plastic containers]

not the best storage imaginable, but,in the moment, what i have!

the boxes are the locomotive parts i don t use!

if any of you noticed these doors in my creations pics before,

well this is where i store most of my buildings,
the cars and trucks missing in the box, are in their respective buildings!

notice that the recycling, and municipal buildings are missing?
they re in my bedroom, but,i m not about to show you that i m i?
my girlfriend would nt appreciate!

hope it s some help for some of you who have a hard time keeping a sorting system!
i have no other choice to do this since i have to keep it mobile!
ever wondered why i love trucks so much?
thanks for visiting and comments,i m really glad my dark age is through!
so good luck, and may the god of inspiration grace you all!

UPDATE; I still use this system, testament to it s efficiency, containers have changed, for better, I don t live there no more, and single, credit; although I m not with mano anymore, credit done, is credit due, as she is the one who figured how to stack like here, I used to stack in a different, less efficient manner, in a way, she ll be with me in this until the end, how ironic...I will post a new Cyberlab version soon, wich will fit my situation better, all improvements will be mentionned.

Thank you for all your comments, Frank. I've got 2 systems, because I make a difference between old and new bricks. The old bricks are sorted like this: Minifigs and minifigs stuff / Turntables and hinges / LEGO space stuff and round bricks / Slopes and wedges / Wedge plates / Slim plates (1 x 1 to 1 x 12) / Plates (2 x 2 to 2 x 12) / Baseplates / Slim bricks / Technic / Wide bricks / Boxes with new bricks. The new ones are sorted by colour, but soon I'll change this.
