My entry to the Impending Doom Contest. And now our feature presentation.
About this creation
The year is 2552...

An alien alliance known as the Covenant has burned or worlds killing millions in their genocidal campaign.

Here is what the glassing looks like.

The Covenant must cleanse the human filth from every planet. But to do this they must GLASS THE PLANET.


As the glassing went some plasma splashed a forest and set it ablaze. It was the dry season.


The glassed path cut over a river leaving it evaporating into the atmosphere.


Here is the cooled glass. In a matter of hours the whole planet will burn, the atmosphere will crack, and Earth will support life no more.


A couple helpless trees are burning as the beam cuts into a hill.


Very soon the Covenant will have finished with Earth, but where will they strike next? Where is humanity safe? Or is humanity safe if their homeworld is gone.


Night moves in and the Covenants activities light up the night.


The plasma is so bright it is as if you were staring into the sun.


Thank you for witnissing the Covenants murderous hatred.

Yes, planets can become reinhabitale after a glassing. Though glassing does crack atmosphere, eveaporate water, and simply destroy all life the planet is not lost. After a few years the UNSC simply will re-teraform the planet.
