I choose M:Tron because it has my favourit colour scheme. Unfortunately I don’t own trans yellow and started my MOC’s by adding trans blue canopies. Later this week my cousin dropped in some trans yellows of his UFO sets, so credit goes to him for saving my, uhm…backdoor…
I choose M:Tron because I could finally use them magnets again from my Exploriens history. Unfortunately I never had M:Tron, so you will not find any logo’s and no torso’s of that kind.
I found the idea of a mining/transport space colony very inspiring.
I choose M:Tron because red and black have the widest variety of bricks in my collection. However, I tried to stick as close to the original concept as possible. Making a suitable new series of the original sets was the attempt here people!
To compensate to the limitations of all said before, I made six vehicles. Pictures are taken by Stijn Stragier, a man I hadn’t seen in years. He popped up at FB recently, and offered to take the pics. Very happy that I took the offer, and refresh our old friendship. You’re a cool dude, Stijn! Thanks again!
And now: on with the show…
The Receiver. A small vehicle for communication purposes only.
The Heavy Copter. I know the original series has a helicopter so I had to try my own version.
It has arms to guide the container below the Copter's belly. Of course, it is attached with a magnet!
The cockpit interior.
The Scanner. Another small vehicle for scanning surface and atmospheric readings. With a fork droid.
The Freighter. Equipped with three conainers, each can be seperated by force of magnets. In comes the Heavy Copter for the task!
The Collector. Nothing will ever beat the six wheeled behemoth in the original concept, but I'm proud about my three wheely crane car.
The Sorter. An M:Tron mech. Wich what was really missing back in the nineties. It has shoulder mounted containers, each with an extending arm to select chrystals and sort them.
Open canopy. If only I had this in trans yellow...
It's smaller version, scouting the planet's surface.
This was a real challenge and a lot of fun to do. Thanks for looking and please leave a comment!
Great serie, Giovanni ! Even if the color scheme is not totally accurate for the reason you said, it doesn't matter, they all look very cool - great mix of the official theme and of your personnal style.

Great series! They sure have a lot of controls in that helicopter!
These are all instantly recognizable as M-Tron even without any official logos, plus they have the bonus Gio touch! If I could form a team to build a collaborative MOC, you'd be on it for sure (said team would be an expensive prospect since the members each live in a different country...). Your style really resonates with what I like.
the 3 wheel crane is just awesome cool, a beast really! A great range of vehicles here, I know how hard it is to keep coming up with them in a series in a week! Did Blacktron myself rnd 2, but not so true to the original theme as you have done here. These are just fun looking models, and the replacement figs are fine... Good job.
Super! That little bot has forks for arms, a cup for a head and a plate for a foot. Were you particularly hungry when you designed that one? ;) I really love them all, but I must say that three-wheeled vehicle is my favourite.
Perfect! Much better than the original designs of the day. Love that little fork droid and the legs of the mech are cool! I agree with you, M tron is a great colour scheme! Well done, you've put a lot of effort into these designs.
Wow. I saw the main pic, and I was like that's a really cool vehicle, and then I saw picture 11. I really like that vehicle- the parts-usage is great. I love how you used the UFO pieces for panoramic windshields, and how you built the body to keep that round shape. My next favorite vehicle is the three-wheeled one- I like the claw on it. I also like that you used those old-style wheels, that I don't have :(. another one of my favorites is the mechanical walker with the sprung legs- that is a good idea. All of these builds are so cool. Great work! Good luck with judges. Keep building! -Anthony Dunne
Nice, I like that heavy copter, those are some awesome vehicles, the springs on the legs of that mecha are a nice touch, maybe I can still equip my mecha with some springs as that is my category, great job, I love them
