A new re-working of the kit I designed for Brickmania in 2009, this time in new light gray.
About this creation
The official blurb from Brickmania...
Responding to demand for a relatively cheap medium sized gun tanks, Brickmania is bringing back an updated version of our Panzer IV kit. This model kit comes complete with 681 genuine unusued LEGO bricks, a BrickArms MG42 machine gun and printed building instructions. The turret rotates, has a fully poseable main gun and has three opening hatches. A tank commander minifig is included. Interior details of the hull and additional crewmen are not included in order to keep the price down. This model has relatively sturdy construction and is recommend for active play. Price for this kit is $120, which is slightly higher than we originally hoped for. Batch #1 will start shipping on Friday, September 24th. At least ten copies will be available at BrickCon in Seattle and 30 copies are now available for purchase at www.brickmania.com

I like it, and also think that it would be extra cool if you made more minifig scaled models (I mean as in 1/48 scale as 1/35 is to big for some) |

I've seen a lot of your stuff on BrickMania and they all amaze me!I've also seen that you haven't done any Soviet tanks.I made a Soviet KV-2 but it isn't exactly that accurate. For starters,it's too small.I'm making a more accurate version now. |

I just received my kit from the mail a couple of days ago. Dan you really made me think with this one, got a really good LEGO building education with the way you conjure up the shapes needed to build this kit. Kudos to you Man! Keep up the good work, and I hope there'll be more medium priced tank kits like this in the works for average joe collectors like me! |

nooooo out of stock at least there is a tan variant |

I like your models, but I think the scale you built at seems a bit too big for this tank. Also, you should try smoothing out all the studs on your models. |

Hey Daniel! Thanks for adding me as a favorite builder! As for this model, it is awesome. Your models are some of the most detailed models I've ever seen. Where did you learn to build like this? I tried to make a Panzer IV based on yours, and it came out looking like a Sherman...kind of. I posted it if you want to see it. See ya! |

great design daniel, but aint that a bit high for a panzer IV cause that looks like its taller than a minifig sized tiger.
Before you criticize others you might want to add some models yourself.
And to answer your question, the model is approximately 1/35 scale in every dimension. It probably is a plate too tall then again the tracks are also too wide, hull too narrow, etc. There's no perfect way to build anything with Lego and you have to make some compromises and approximations to make it work. |
