A handy permutation i discovered to make 7942 look more realistic, you decide wether it works or not.
About this creation
After an expensive trip to town one day I returned home with Lego City's '7942 Fire Pick-up Truck'
I was pleased with the amount of bricks in it and even the minifigure was reasonably acurate. Unfortunately one vital mistake I noticed... the wheels! on a 4-wide base somehow the wheels totaled upto 8-wide!
Immediately, I aquired the help of a certain evil genius who melted down the useless pieces using his pattented fighting machine.
After extracting the more important elements of the model i set to work on the wheels.
First I tore the culprits from their chassis and began to dismantle them.
Next, after a thourgh dicecting, I seperated the four wheels and the two 'clips' into piles. Only the wheels and the bottom of the clips were required, the other pieces required more efficient alternatives.
Thirdly, I connected the pieces like so...
And finaly I whacked them onto the bottom of the truck and hoped for the best.
Now your 8-wide is about a 5'n'1/2-wide
Now the truck is ready, lets go do some exploring!
