This is my mini-scale D-Day diorama. Don't know which beach this is. I built each segment seperately for a total of 3 segments, in true modular fashion. Think it turned out quite good, haven't tried anything on a mini-scale in the past, so I can say that I'm pretty proud. Well, thats enough blabbing. On to the creation!
About this creation

Here's a great overall view. You can see how I built the diorama in 3 pieces, 1 for the water, 1 for the sand, and 1 for the bunker.

Perspective lookng up the beachead. I'm not sure what beach this depicts. A random sector of Omaha, perhaps?

The water section. This is the last piece I built. You can see the sinking landing craft still burning. Also, there are several men swimming through the water and huddling behind czech hedgehogs (beach obstacles). If you look at the main photo you can see that I actually sunk the men into the base.

The beach. This was the easiest part to build. I just slapped down some sand and GIs. Nice and simple.

Almost to the end. Here is an overall view of the first piece I built. You can see the bunker, the small trench behind it, and the two machine gunners.

Best for last. Here is a view looking down onto the beachead this time. Since I haven't said so yet, I'll say it now. Getting the artillery in the bunker was difficult beyond belief. Generalizing, I wedged in two small black techinc rod pieces and fitted them on where they would be permanently fixed at an upward angle. Perhaps these guns sunk the LCVP.
Anyway, it feels good to be building again. I hope you guys enjoy, and please, please comment & rate! It helps me out a lot!
In a few days I should have links to my German bunker and D-Day Diorama up on this posting...Until then!

I am asking because of your last name Dvorak.
Sorry, but no. I'm Czech and Polish. Thanks for the comment though. I'm adding you as a favorite builder, can you do that for me too? Thanks,
