My new plane, the Desert Swallow, an experiment in different techniques.
About this creation
Hey all, this plane came about as a result of my love of WWII and late 1930's aircraft, and after seeing John Lamarck's unique style of building the tail of the fuselage using hinges to give it a unique shape, I decided to give it a try. I made it primarily tan, then threw in gray for good measure, and as a result it looked so much like a desert airplane that I had Johnny Thunder pilot the dang thing. Also, this plane is classed as "Experimental Design" Meaning I may repost it here at times with entirely different looks when the mood strikes me
First off, some stats:
Speed: 275-300 MPH 300 MPH being a good day.
Climb: 260 MPH
Turning Radius: Fairly speedy, about on par with a Japanese Zero.
Dive: 300-310 MPH.
Pilot: Johnny Thunder for now.
Forgive the huge shadow over some of the pics, that was my cat, attempting to end my plane's life.
I hope you all enjoy it!

I've had several Catikazies too, mostly named Oliver. I like this little plane, it has some nice curves to it, and the engine looks nice too. Makes me think I should post some of my real life planes. Nice job. |

I like the cockpit, but I don't like all the studs. I'm probably going to drive you crazy with all these comments about the studs huh?
Not really, I get where your coming from about them. I actually would like it to be a touch smoother, but on the other hand the studs give it a texture thats pleasing to me. I may end up snotting as much as I can in the final build, or I may not, because even I have no idea how this thing will look in its final form:) Thanks for your opinion! |

Very, very good. Unless it's not supposed to, you should figure out how to enclose the cockpit.
Otherwise it's incredibly accurate!
Thanks, I'm glad you like it! As to the cockpit, I've tried at least seven, its experimental right now, but when its done it will most likely be enclosed. Thanks for the suggestion though, so I know where to go with it! |
