Enlarge image 		   Payload bay doors. The white thin walled panels were used extensively to save weight.



Enlarge image 		   This view shows how the payload bay doors are geared to motors housed in the aft fuselage.



Enlarge image 		   This view shows the electrical port interface for the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) arm motor along the orbiter's side. The vent doors along the side of the orbiter are for equalizing pressure in the cargo bay during ascent and landing.
