This page shows the details of OV-103 Space Shuttle Discovery's wings and main landing gear.



Enlarge image 		   This view shows the wing torque box which transfers aero loads into the mid-fuselage structure. The entire wing uses weight saving constructions techniques and is extremely lightweight, yet stiff.



Enlarge image 		   Access to the gear locking mechanism as well as to the main landing gear is shown here.



Enlarge image 		   This lever slides a technic locking pins that allows locking of the main landing gear once they are deployed.

Absolutely my favorite part, I've many times tried to make a working landinggear (For fun) but never actually done one I've been satisfied with.
