Fungus Apocalypse
My entry for the Dem Haunted Bones Halloween Contest.
About this creation
This is my entry for the Dem Haunted Bones Halloween Contest. The category is spooky halloween vig, and I believe that an apocalyptic vig would suit this purpose.

The Fungus Apocalypse began when three scientists accidentally cross bred a fungus whom they had gifted with sentience with an aggressive and quickly growing species of fungus they had created in the lab. It grew until it was all over LEGO city, but hidden from sight, and then killed the scientists when they came back to examine it. The fungus proceeded to attack the city mercilessly, sprouting weaker versions of themselves and eating pedestrians. It turned the corpses into fungus zombies, carrying intelligent fungi that use the body as it's means of motion. Very few humans remain.

"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! THE FUNGUS MEN ARE HERE!!"

Proof that it's base is 8x8.

Quoting Nitrosity The CyborgNinja it's pretty good, but the idea is not quite original. i'm not sure if you've heard of "Day of the Triffids, here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_of_the_Triffids
I've never heard of it, but in reality, nothing we make today is truly original-it always has roots in something else.

Wow! I don't think i've ever seen anyone abuse rules this well! Hahaha! The idea was very original (never heard of a fungus apocalypse before), but the build kind of fell short. 11 points.

Quoting Heath 'kik36' Flor Well this is a very interesting way to abuse the 8X8 rule. One thing I will suggest to help with your pics is to get some of those plain poster boards to use as backdrops as it helps to keep everyone's attention focused on the build itself and not your messy room. LMAO While the story is definitely original, I feel the build to be a bit lacking. The plants feel more like a clutter than an addition to the scene. Also your mouth in the ground seems dead. Next time you should vary the rows of teeth...some high, some low...to give it a more lively feel. OK, one last correction to satisfy Bone's infatuation with numbers. Originality is 4, presentation a 3, and the build is a 3. Overall I'm giving you a 10 here. With just a little bit more oomph I think you could have taken this build to a whole new level. Good luck with the other judges.
I guess you could call it abuse of the rule. How would you suggest improving the presentation next time (is that the background)?

Quoting Skior Llessah i like it, nice set up. but- you could have used that green baseplate as a base for the moc, rather than a background.
Actually, the base has to 8x8.
