MOC Olympics Round 4 - Group 1 - John Dawn vs. Stuart Lucas
Well its been fun, I mean round 4. Thats pretty far, I really hope that I can continue to round 5 but, I'll let the judges survive, I've definitely built outside my comfort zone here, and I'm glad I did. Good luck to my opponent.
About this creation

My opponent, Stuart Lucas' entry.

MOC Olympics

“Historical Vignette”. Build a vig that represents a historical event. (all vigs are 8x8, fig scale. parts of the MOC can go beyond the base border as long as they don't touch ground. Please keep within the “spirit” of the 8x8 base. There’s been people “stretching” this a bit recently. It’s still allowed, but the closer you keep it to the 8x8 the better your chances for advancing.)

9/11 Survivor staircase

I'll let the picture speak for themselves.

My original entry: Pearl Harbor.

I decided to do 9/11 because my father is the program manager for the WTC site, and 9/11 is something I feel strongly about. Above is a hat of the USS New York, whose bow is forged from steel of the Twin Towers.

Quoting Chris Phipson A fitting tribute. But sorry, Stu got my vote. ~ Chris.
I understand, but now I can work on that Dawn Forge mech. I'm glad that I got as far as I did, especially considering who I was up against.

Nicely done but I think (technically I mean) the pearl harbor vignette is nicer

This is a great tribute John! 9/11 was a terrible day.....as was Pearl Harbor. You put up a great fight and clawed your way into Round 4, and you gave Stuart a great entry to compete against. Good luck with the judges!

Quoting Stuart Lucas Program director for the WTC site? Wow, that's a big deal. Very poignant tribute here too, I found this category a lot trickier than I expected. Add this to the group as well as the sign-up thread, you deserve to get more views!
Thanks, I believe that you will be moving on, so I wish you good luck. And thanks everyone for the reminder to add it to the group.

A fine choice of subject matter, but the build quality was much better on the Pearl Harbor vig, in my humble opinion. It's up to the judges now, so good luck~H

Wonderful tribute! Hey mon, you forgot to add your MOC in the group. I think you can still add since you did add your link in the thread. Good luck!
