Midi AT-AT V 2
After my loss in round 3 of the MocOlympics, I needed to go to my "Happy Place" to avoid any homicidal thoughts and/or actions! If you know me, you know my happy place is Star Wars. I've been wanting to revisit a 2nd version of a midi-scale AT-AT for a while. I feel that I'm an adequate enough builder now that I can pretty much build whatever I can imagine, so, I thought now would be the best time. I wanted to make a snowspeeder, a "snowy" baseplate, and some turrets to go with this, but, after 2 weeks of building, rebuilding, tearing apart, smashing, and yelling at this thing, I was ready to move on. I used several visual sources to get this as accurate as I could and wanted this to look as much like a "real" set as possible. When I finished, I said "Yeah, I'd pay 39.99 for that!" As always, please RATE and COMMENT:)

This is great, but I love tiny details to much not to mention these. sorry! the head is a tad to tall (most noticeable in the back) and the body is 1 to 2 studs to short. I love the rest!

Quoting Mithryl Dlarix Hey Moodie! I see you're still active! Glad to hear from you! All my lego is in storage right now, and probably will be for quite a while. In the meantime, I'll be building some virtual stuff, and later on, I will hopefully actually get it built. Anyhow, this AT AT is really indicative of your MOCs in general. You've come a long way, particularly with your mechanized creations. Your miniatures were always amazing though. Keep up the great work. Incidentally, I found some cool looking mecha and minis from this guy--a real veteran, who still occasionally builds. Check him out some time: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2347402

thanks for the kind comments! This is really great though--it'd be a better "play scale" model than mine if we could just squeeze that pilot in the cockpit. truly excellent.

I know precisely how you feel. Once my keister was kicked to the curb in round two I had to do the same thing and build a mech of my own. I should it up in the very near future. Meanwhile back to your beauty. It's a vast improvement over the V.1. The detail all around it what brings it to life. The pic of the pilot and the AT-AT looking at each other is reminiscent of a boy and his overgrown armor plated, blaster packing battle dog, how touching!

The AT-AT is known as a colossal, fearsome, destructive, gigantic, intimidating, towering, deadly war-machine. After seeing this MOC, we can safely add 'cute' to that list :) It really put a smile to my face when I first opened this page. And it is very well built too!

The fact that you have got the trans red down, but TLG doesn't continues to baffle me. Sure, its a small detail, but it adds so much, and isn't to difficult to add. All TLG would have had to do is print red onto the ''widscreen'' piece. Oh well, little detail always irk big time fans right? Your AT-AT, however, is awesome! The only, and l mean only, thing, is that top down view makes it look chubby. But it has been years since l've looked at the ''real'' thing, l could be wrong.
