Although I created this quite a long time ago it's still one of my favorites. I started with finding reference pictures of SpongeBob. I wanted him to be realistic. Finding pictures of his back was not easy. I planned for a huge sculpture. I started with his eyes. They are 8x8 white radar dishes (which were only available in one train set back then). After a lot of calculations to make the body proportional to the eyes, I got started. SpongeBob was done freehand style. After he was built I noticed some spots that needed improvement. I carefully took him apart, making detailed instructions as I went. I then rebuilt him with the improvements. Later, I recreated the sculpture in MLCAD and released the instructions on my website, www.brickitgood.com. Enjoy!
