A 9v motorized model of the presidential rotorcraft built to minifigure scale!
About this creation
Designated by the call sign "Marine One" while carrying the chief executive, the Sikorsky VH-3D Sea King offers the U.S. president safe and convenient transportion in between destinations and his jet, "Air Force One." As I'm currently working on finishing a 1:48-scale model of the presidential 747, I thought that it would be well accompanied by the president's "white top," and I've thus designed the helicopter to scale with my AF1 project. The MOC's main rotor is connected to a 9v ungeared motor (the fastest one that the LEGO Company has produced), which just barely fits inside the aircraft along with its battery pack. Simply built, the model doesn't feature an opening door (as the battery pack is right inside where the doorway would be) and the phrase "United States of America" on each side of the fuselage has been shortened to "United States" due to lack of space.
[Overall Dimensions: Length, Overall: 17"; Length, Without Rotors: 13.75"; Main Rotor diameter: 15"; Height, Overall: 5".] First completed on October 9, 2010; deconstructed.
