There are many gundam in lego bricks, but most of them just stand like a statue, so i made real lego grade gundam could take various poses and jestures
About this creation
Do you know the gun-pla ? It means the gundam plastic model.
The gun-pla has a grade showing its degree of detail and joint locomotion.
The word,real LEGO grade(RLG), came from the real grade gundam .
Becasue, I referred to the design and mechanism of the real grade gundam.

The arm and sholder have joints with 6 DOF, so the RLG gundam could take the below pose
Also, the neck has 2 DOF
The hand with 3 fingers and 6 joints could hold the beam saver, express various gesture.
Expecially, this hand is able to hold the rifle ,put on the index, put the trigger of the rifle.
This RLG gudam has two types waist.
This type has the pilot's seat for mini-figure in the chest
The pilot seat
This is another type waist contains the fighting plane, the core fighter, int the chest.
The core figher is in the chest.

The core fighter transform from the docking mode to plane mode through this process.
The plane could take the landing gears on and off.
The RLG has 14 hatches for maintanence

I am ~fascinated~ by this MOC! I am confused as to some of the techniques used in it's creation, however. The hands are my biggest brain-scratcher. Might I request instruction on how you designed the hands? The pictures don't give me any clues as to how you designed the fingers (Despite staring at them for about an hour)? And did you build a frame before you built the shell?
Some instruction would be wonderful here, or at least a guide to the hand technique (I'm a perfectionist by nature when it comes to building with Lego, and the more articulate I can make my designs, the better).

Oh My God... My mind has just been blown. (That being said, this brainless person is about to say a lot.) The transforming jet was amazing. The way you fit the minifig inside was also astounding. The fact that the gundam is completely articulated, including the fingers, is pure genious. I love how the legs can bend at the knees in a realistic way. The head piece is usually rather difficult for most that try to build a gundam moc, but your's is superb. Really, this is one of the best mocs I've seen a long time. How long did this take to make (including preparation and planning)? And are you planning on making another Gundam? If so, from what series?

This is easily the nicest RX-78 that I have seen at this scale. The overall design is right on, especially the faceplate. The opening service hatches everywhere are a nice feature. My favorite feature though has to be the sliding knee plate--I've been trying to figure out how to make lego mecha do that like on the MG Gunplas. Its nice to know that it can be actually done. Great work on this. I really look forward to seeing more gundam from you. |

Very impressive, it's very clean and full of all the important details. The dual cockpit/core fighter setup is a great compromise as well, and for this scale it's one of the best Gundams out there.
