About this creation
MHFA-MRD280 ‘Hammer of God’™
Lore: Lore: During the Contact War PALADIN (Planetary Alliance Logistics Administration Defense Intelligence Network) took significant strides to bring planetary militaries and navy’s under a single command structure, and supplied the outer colonies with materiel and vehicles to maintain security and control. The OTH280-MRD was the largest non-ship mounted rail driver and was typically deployed as a stationary anti-orbital defense platform on many worlds. In the intervening years 9DA Epsilon Technologies has greatly decreased the size of the rails and power input necessary to accelerate such a large sabot and has even had great success mounting the weapon on a mobile platform dubbed the MHFA-MRD280 ‘Hammer of God’. The Hammer can engage targets in high orbit, and by using a target relay system it can accurately bring fire onto other land based systems. The compact high density capacitor powers twin magnetic coils which accelerate a 4.5 kilogram sabot to a muzzle velocity of 5,200 meters a second, and is accurate enough to hit a 5 meter target at 220 miles away. The kinetic energy created by an impact at such speeds is several times greater than high explosive shells, and due to the benign nature of the sabots transportation and storage of ammunition is much safer.
The Hammer can be operated by a minimum crew of four, but efficiency is greatly reduced. It is tread driven and has a pair of stabilizing braces that are deployed in preparation for firing the vehicles primary cannon. Due to its size, weight and low ground speed; transportation can be problematic, and the MHFA-MRD280 is generally only deployed for extended combat periods and defensive actions. The four HGm-9 machine guns provide direct point defense against infantry and soft skinned vehicles, but when deployed in combat zones the Hammer is usually escorted by IFV’s and an artillery support and security team is deployed with each unit or each pair of units depending on configuration. Precision ground to ground strikes are also dependant on advanced targeting telemetry provided by spotter vehicles, infantry detachments, air support, satellite and orbiting capital vessels.

I especially love the modular armor plates over the tread wells. the inverted plate on the underside, and the mosaic stile numbering are examples of creative and focused work. Attack! |

Very nice. The only thing I found funny was the suspension, as it would obviously not work with the wheels crammed in that tight (would not be any room for them to move).
Otherwise very solid work :) |

It seems nice enough, but none of your pictures are loading beyond 25% for me. The mocpages uploader is a lot better as of late, you know. Doesn't mess up the image quality nearly as much. |
