IJN IBUKI
another IJN NAVY SHIP,not easy to find an aircraft carrier that is smaller than the FUSO especially one that there is hardly any photos or information about,it is based upon the only photos i could find and similar layout to the biggeer UNRYU CLASS so hopefully it will turn out ok,the IBUKI was a super MOGAMI CLASS cruiser converted to an aircraft carrier but never completed, around 660 ft long.mine is 14 ft so far without the flightdeck, could have made a smaller one but most japanese carriers look odd with no island so this was the only one with an island of that size, now sitting at just under 15ft and another foot to go in,one elevator to go in after constant trial and error it works at last with two elec motors, boat deck winches, boats to do next,10 zero fighters and 3 VAL divebombers so far, starting to scrape for pieces now LOL.long way to go yet.nearly finished 16ft long now, looking more like the UNRYU CLASS thanks for looking,

Can I call you god? Well, anyway, I think you should go all out and build something INSANE like USS Enterprise or another full sized, slant-deck modern nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Then, I think, I would worship you. Or, if you can't do that, maybe an American battleship, like Missouri or Alabama.

Quoting Joe C All your ships are incredible. Where do you get all those parts? Do you store them in your home? Outstanding work as always.
just keep on buying more, planned to build a nimitz class carrier but would have to dismantle them,so far have kept them all built and hopefully keep buying more, the fuso is 18ft destroyer 9ft merchant ship 10ft and the ibuki carrier 16ft,not sure what next another japanese ship or not,any idea what anyone would like,

Quoting LEGO Master Very impressive. It's always nice to see other ships in LEGO or other bricks. What scale are you using for the carrier? Are your other ships the same scale also? My 8' USS Yorktown CV10 is a build currently in progress.
all my ships are the same scale 1/40 minifig or as close as i can get it,good thing i havent had to break any up so far.very hard to get any info/photos/plans for the IBUKI so much of it is based on the UNRYU CLASS so may add a bit to it and call it the KATSURAGI,there the same width just longer, running out of room for them all,yes it is nice to see other ships on here, look forward to seeing more of your ships

Well I have built a couple of modern battle ships. However, they never seem to turn out as well as my sailing ships. Probably because they are small and don't have much interior. I'm sure I'll build a bigger one someday though.

Quoting Admiral Hutton awesome work. When do you think it will be finished?
hard to say starting to run out of pieces now LOL,put a foot in the middle because it looked too short and high, post more pics shortly, new island aswell, not an easy build mostly guesswork as very few photos and info on this one, working off other carriers which look similar, are you still building ships of the sail era.

You are right; The brand of blocks that you use does not make you a better or worse constructor. It´s just that this is a "Share your LEGO(R) creations" website. So I think it should be made mainly from Lego blocks to be posted here. Just my opinion... A fantastic project and build, nevertheless!

this is mostly out of megabloks solely because their pieces are more appropiate,i have loads of both makes as you can see by what have been built so far,if it fits and looks ok then use it,doesnt take any skill away from it,some people cut pieces some modify them and some use megabloks.in my eyes its the imagination that builds the model not the kind of bricks you use,not had to break the FUSO or anything up yet so this will sit alongside the rest, thanks for your comments most of them are appreciated LOL.more pics to follow.the flightdeck will be around 14ft by 2ft,thats a lot of tiles etc,if anyone has any JAP airplanes would be nice to see them,

Is this all with LEGO bricks? Reason is that when looking at the part of the platform that spits way out and needs the supports, the angled pieces look very similar to MegoBlocks. There's also a MegoBlocks box in the backround of one of the pictures.
