The Hammerhead-class cruiser was a type of warship used by the Republic Navy during the Old Sith Wars, the Mandalorian Wars, and the New Sith Wars.
About this creation

The problem with building a ship from a computer game, is that there aren't that many good pictures or schematics available of it (most of my reference material came from screenshots I took from the Harbinger in KOTOR II). And the ones I did find differ greatly from each other, because it's mainly concept art or comics. One time it has three engines, one time four or six. So I decided I'd make one that just looks both recognisable and awesome ;)
I also felt I needed to add an Ebon Hawk to scale, like I did with the mini Millennium Falcon and the Nebulon B.

Some stats
Model: Hammerhead-class cruiser
Class: Cruiser, Capital ship
Length: 315 meters (122 studs!)
Navigation computer equipped
Armament:
* Dual heavy Turbolaser cannons (4)
* Turbolaser cannons (2)
* Point-defense laser cannon batteries (2)
* Quad laser cannons(2)
* Tractor beam generator (1)
Complement
* 12 Aurek tactical strikefighters
* 2 Ministry-class orbital shuttles
* Various support craft
Crew
* 400
* 300 Passengers
Cargo capacity
* 4,000 tons
Consumables
* 8 months

What I like about this design, is that the top and bottom of the 'hammer' gets narrower very subtlely (with 1/2 stud offsets).
I didn't like it to be straight, and I didn't like it to be sloped or wedge-shaped. I think this is just perfect.

The Hammerhead from a front angle. Notice the bridge windows running all the way into the gun mounts on the side.

I still don't know why it's called a hammerhead ;)
I guess it's shaped this way to increase the weapon range, like the s-foils on an x-wing.

Detailed view of the bridge running into the ear-mounted guns. I guess it's the gunner's window.

One more from the side, to appreciate just how large these guns are.

The patches on the back of the head were directly shaped from screenshots of the Harbinger from KOTOR II.

Backside shot with engines. I think these came out well. I had never before used tracks before in a MOC. Not for anything other than tracks, that is ;)
Somehow I expected the ship to have a large fin in the back, but it didn't.

The ship from an angle you wouldn't want to be seeing it: attack position.

Detailed view of the hind part. I like the big gap in the large red thing on the back and the dark gray greebly parts. It's like it's missing some plating after a few battles.

Side greeblies.

The setup, with stand and Ebon Hark attached to it.
And my patented black t-shirt technique for shooting :)

Here you can see inside the head during building. The head had multiple layers of jumper plates for the 1/2 stud offset.

The Ebon Hawk and the side guns. They're almost the same size!
#####
I felt this Star Wars warship from Knights Of The Old Republic (Endar Spire, Harbinger, Sojourn) deserved some Lego attention. I've seen a couple of micro- and nanoscale ones, and one attempt at one at this size (the head). But never a finished one.
So I thought I'd do it myself then. Well here you go.

What is great here, is that the build is very complex, but I felt you've made it mainly for the great look of the ship and not only as a technical challenge. Red and grey works so well on this impressive monster. Awesome !!! |

I've never exhibited one of my MOCs. The fact that I'm putting my stuff up here on this here website is as much exposure as I'm currently comfortable with ;) I don't know how many parts. My best estimate would be somewhere between 5,000 and 7,500 parts, but I could even be wrong about that. Build time wasn't so much. Couple of weeks, on and off. Maybe 30 hours altogether. |

Awesome ship, although im not exactly sure how effective this would make it in an actual battle, wouldnt it just be making the front of the ship easier to hit? :P anyways amazing build! The grebbles going alone the entire thing are superb and i just love the engines
I didn't design the ship, but my theory is that that large head helps spread out the range of fire, like the s-foils on an x-wing, or the 'tail' of a b-wing. Maybe it has sufficient shielding to be more or less careless about being easier to hit. Or maybe it's a trap! |

the ebon hawk looks great! and from my limited knowledge on the Hammerhead class, looks like you did a fairly accurate job in designing it. my only suggestion is to possibly beef up the back in a future version of this moc. here are a few good refferenc pics i found: http://sithempire.ucoz.ru/_pu/0/21208081.jpg
http://sithempire.ucoz.ru/_pu/0/00852789.jpg
the connecting piece is a tad chunkier and more fat in general. However, you still did an amazing job capturing the shape of this behemoth of a ship. Great job :D
Yep, those are some of the images I had at my disposal while I was building this. As you can see, these two alone differ on some points. Let alone the differences in other source material. Drove me nuts. I agree with you on the beefing up though. Truth is, I already had my engines on and I couldn't be bothered trying to put them further apart to make room for a bulkier back. Plus, I didn't have the parts, not by a long shot. I tried making the back higher, like in the example, but it just made it look like it had an extremely silly hat on. So I put it all down to artistic license and made my own central/back part ;) |

INCREDIBLE! Just a real masterpiece - from the engines with the tracks, to the panels, to the greebles, to the dedication with the 1/2 stud offset. And, the little ebon hawk is just as smart and sexy as a young Einstein. |

awesome build, and based on the struggles with my current "MOC of the year" (I only get about 1 really big one done per year), I FEEL YOUR PAIN! And hopefully one day within the next couple months, will share your sense of accomplishment having finished it |

WOW. Both ships are great. Full of details and the colours are all right. Very cool job. Since two years I want to create the Ebon Hawk but I'm not able to start. But this is a very great MOC. |

the ebon hawk looks great! and from my limited knowledge on the Hammerhead class, looks like you did a fairly accurate job in designing it. my only suggestion is to possibly beef up the back in a future version of this moc. here are a few good refferenc pics i found: http://sithempire.ucoz.ru/_pu/0/21208081.jpg
http://sithempire.ucoz.ru/_pu/0/00852789.jpg
the connecting piece is a tad chunkier and more fat in general. However, you still did an amazing job capturing the shape of this behemoth of a ship. Great job :D |

Steef, I've never seen the game, but this is a great looking S.H.I.P. Yo did a geat job moking it look convincing for having so little source material. The rear looks very well done. The tracks give it a great scale feel. Regards, Eric. |

The shape is unusual. Come to think of it, a lot of the ships in Star Wars are unusually shaped! Good work!
...and that is precisely why I like to build them! ;) |

Why only one shot of the rear? - I like that part of it the most: very studly thrusters.
I'm a bit self-conscious about my big thrusters. But really, I took several pictures of the rear, and they all looked a bit similar. So, I decided to post the one with the most details in it. |

Steef, you've done it again. Stunning work! The whole ship is very smooth, and considering how many different angles there are that's pretty impressive. I've never played the game nor heard of this ship but your creation draws my intrest. Why only one shot of the rear? - I like that part of it the most: very studly thrusters. Can't say enough, beautiful work. |
