Puzzle Cube
My Puzzle Cube 2010
About this creation
This is my puzzle cube. I actually designed this a couple of years ago, but never took the time to build it till this summer. I was trying to find something different to build for my Puyallup Fair entry this year. There are two categories; houses, and other. Houses are so over done IMO, and they usually involve details that my limited Lego collection does not easily provide. The ‘other’ category is where many of my projects have sensibly been placed.

So here it is, my puzzle cube. It starts off as a black cube 16 x 16 x (the equivalent of) 16. There are six interlocking pins through the box, two on each face. The fifth pin is moved to release the first pin to be removed.

Then the second pin to be removed is right above the fifth pin. The Fifth pin could be pushed back in at this point, but I left it out as a point of reference.

Next the third pin is taken out from the top.

The fourth pin is the twin of the first.

The fifth pin can come out in earnest now.

And finally the sixth pin can be removed from the top.

This sixth pin is the pin in which I added a goal, a $100 bill.

I have a few other ideas for other puzzles but this is the only one I have actually built so far. I also made a color version of this puzzle, so each pin was a different color, but I found that to be too easy to solve. Well it is the same difficulty, but my kids find it harder just by being one color.
