Transform Yourself - Lego Transformers in the Library
I placed my collection of six Lego Transformers in my school's library under the banner, "Transform Yourself Into a Star - READ!"
About this creation
Lego is such an important pasttime for me, and the students love when I bring it to school or show them my work, so I thought a library display would be fun. I started discussing my plan with our wonderful librarian in the summer, and my display was ready and in the case in September, 2010. I made six signs to show both modes of each Transformer, since I wasn't sure all viewers would grasp that these creations all transform.

Ironhide is what I consider the class of my collection. He spent most of his time in robot mode, but I changed him into a truck for the last few weeks of the display.

Longarm is, in my opinion, the coolest robot ever. I love the criss-crossing panels on his chest.

Fracture is sometimes confused with Bumblebee. I am hoping to build Bumblebee within the next few months.

The top shelf. Literally.

My three older creations--Dispatch, Shift, and Mantis--didn't turn out well in the pictures. They all look good, but don't compare to my newer stuff.

The bottom shelf.

I want to thank my school librarian once more for letting me display these bad boys. I also want to thank my wife, as usual, for her photographical assistance.

I may check with area libraries, to see if they are interested in housing this display. If not, they'll come back to live with me.

The next step me is my after-school Lego class. I want to thank Dave Kaleta and Dave Xandegar for their advice in starting that program up. It's possible I will post the results of that enterprise in November.

Thanks for viewing!
