So first a huge thank you to Tbone tbl because your bubble fighter was the best picture to base mine off of. Second I built this because almost everyone I know has never seen the movie Lost in Space so I built this to make me feel better about the world. For those that can't remember the movie its "Danger Will Robinson, Danger!". The bubble fighter was at the very beginning of the movie when the hypergate was being attacked and the pilot was Matt LeBlanc (Joey from Friends). This is a scale size of the bubble fighter is 1:24. This is the only position I could get the craft to hold because those wings are heavy. The pod is on a shaft and the wings do turn around it.
The front view. Clearly the pod is not enclosed but it does work. from this side we can see all 9 guns. The four around the pod are attached to it, so when the other pilot jettisoned his "core" he did still have weapons.
Here is the left side also commonly the bottom of the craft when flying.
The right of the ship, the top also.
The engine and the tail foils.
The front again but with the pilot outside and with his "chair".
250 pieces and 3 hours of work. There is more out there.
great effort! looks sharp. i've built one of these too, way back in probably 1999! no pics as it had long collapsed under the great weight of the NEED THOSE PIECES BLACK HOLE -_- only had those trans-orange 3-pane half octagonal windows (from the space Ice theme??) for the cockpit... but it worked. independently rotating pilots cockpit, minifig controls and it was light and functional, but alas. there was no enemy to fight.
