What mysteries are shrouded in the mist? Who is that dark figure emerging from within?
About this creation

'Hi, guys, my name is Harvey and I'm the resident vampire! Sorry about the mist, it seems especially thick this evening...'

'What do you say we head inside where it's a little clearer?'

'Watch your step walking past those statues; decorations they may be, but those swords are still functionally sharp!'

'Heading up to the second floor, it looks as if the fog is thinning a little so perhaps you'll get a little better view of things.'

'Yes, much easier to see now. Here is a rendering of my family crest and over here...did you hear something?'

*cough*cough*clang*cough*

'WHO WOULD DARE ENTER MY SANCTUARY!'

'No...the horror...it's an ABOMINATION! AAAAHHHHH!!!!

OOHHH AH AH EEH EEH EEH!!!!

SigHansi: 'Is there a problem here...?'
Some not-so-smokey shots...

The crest

The tree. What a PAIN!
Fourth Dimension Commentary: Here it is, my vampire castle. My largest project to date, forcing me to reconfigure my photography corner to fit it. Now I tear it apart to sort out all the pieces for my other large project that is collecting dust, waiting for said pieces. This originally was going to be a quick, simple build for my new vampire fig, but gradually grew as I got into it(that's what she said). I have been wanting to try a castle for a while now and figured if I was going to take the time, why NOT get into it? I used all but 3 of my black tiles and about 95% of my black slopes. Black is fun to build with, looks fantastic in person, but I'm sure many of you know, it is a major pain in the ass to photograph! Adding smoke, surprisingly, only made it harder! LMAO (that's sarcasm, folks) My crappy smoke machine was giving me fits, but luckily I was watching my Oregon Ducks take care of the University of Southern California 'Prophylactics', so I managed a bit of patience and got some shots that I'm not entirely unhappy with. So there you have it, hope you like it. Happy Halloween to everyone and have a fun, safe night!~H

Dam you Hans and your genius! I've been looking for a cheap smoke machine to use in some photography of some of my off-roaders (figured it'd be cool, what with working headlights and all). Oh well - great minds think alike. Well, maybe not great. Maybe twisted. Off. Oblique? Anywho, this is certainly a masterpiece - wonderful job all around! |

How did I miss this? Beautiful work on the castle and, as others have said, the tree. Very original design. I was just waiting to see the monkey smokin a bong with the vampire at the end:) |

LMFAO excellent castle buddy!!! It's a good thing that you took care of the bong joke, because it was seriously coming your way! Beautiful build my friend! And the tree might have been a pain, but it totally adds to the overall creepiness of the build. |

I'm sorry I didn't catch this one sooner. Great work, Hans. The black castle looks terrific, and I like the design. Of course, the effects were a great touch as well. Now if we could just get Lego to make some parts that will give us a nice creepy looking dead tree. |

Hans, this castle is simply wonderful! Between the shape of the castle, the smoke and the quality of your pictures this MOC felt like it was straight out of the movie. The tree may have been a pain but it was worth it. I tip my hat to you once again! |

I feel for the vamp host, some hippy squatter and his pot monkey doing a home invasion. And what a home! Lovely details like the tree and the crest and very nice construction all round. I refuse to build all-black right now, so well done to you. I can't wait for your other long-term build either. Great job! |
