Well it's been a long week of waiting, but here it finally is! This is my Minifig scale Beach Resort.
About this creation
Firstly Thank you to everyone who takes a look at this model, it has taken me some time to produce and a few different BL orders to have all the pieces for it.
After my original WIP of the Beach Resort I decided the next step had to be taken - which was including playability in the model. It was a great deal of fun adding all the little extras. I also took suggestions which had been made - hats off to Leda and Spencer the Soccer player - Awsome feedback ;) Cheers!
To all those who have thousands of grass and flower pieces - KUDOS to you!!! They are such a pain in the .... And I only had to assemble 120 of them :( I might hold off on my order of another thousand.
I hope you have enjoyed this MOC, please feel free to leave a comment :) Thanks. ~Thoy

I often think the same, 2.5 months between this and my current work, thanks, I think I am on the slope of improvement too :)
You're definitely improving... at a phenomenal rate, too. I can't wait to see what you come up with next... it's also kind of funny to think that two or three months ago I didn't even know you existed. Getting involved in the MOCpages community has been a great experience for sure.
It's interesting to think that this earlier work isn't really all that old... you've improved since this build, but there's some real demonstrations of the skill to come here. Those cheese slopes make cool waves, and the waterfall and chimney with smoke are also great details.
Its one of the greatest creations i have seen. To make it better you could add some power functions lights to the waterfall or maybe use the power functions switch and lights so when you flip the switch the hotel has lights.
Anyway, I'm really impressed.

I think I already commented on this...? But anyway, those taps and bottles are a win. I love the little beds, too, you should've added mints on the pillows :P
Dude you are my new Favourite person! Thanks for making this my first MOC to get to a rating of 50! On a different note, how do I join G.A.I.A? I think thats spelt correct... Cheers for the comment! ~Thoy

Great Model! And many thanks for your first comment on my new castle "Borgtorn"! What's very funny about it: I am going to NZ for 3 weeks in January. :-)
Ah you will be in good company over here, nothing better than to be in a country full of Kiwis haha. Are you doing a tour or just going to a holiday spot? Plenty of gorgeous scenery here you wouldn't want to miss! ~Thoy
Hey I very cool moc. When is it going to open for business? :)
I sent you an invite for my new group a place for big builds such as this. And for critiques and feedback. (at least this is what I am hoping for)

Thoy, there isn't much I can say about this after Spencer's comment but this... WOW! The water and sand are amazing! Now all you need to add to your minifig resort are some minfigs. Regards, Eric.

Simply stunning. For a minute i thought the pool was filled with real water, the colour is fantastic! Then you have your gigantic beach where you seem to have a real talent for landscaping. Your little extras like the umbrella seating and sun-bathing chairs really add a lot to the playability. So the outside looks amazing all around. But you took it a step further and included inside items. The bar with the soda fountain, your roaring fireplace, and the studless tables make it look good and easily playable in. The only thing i don't like is the way you did the next two levels. If the resort is meant for more than one person, then its not a very private place to sleep in and such. I would suggest some walls. But otherwise its a great moc and i'm glad I could help you out in the slightest on it. Well done Thoy, well done indeed.

Thank you for showing me the way, fantastic all credit to you.
The 1x1 Slopes were an experiment - which I believe have paid off. To see a real genius at work, look up Eggy Pop, he is where I got my water inspiration from. This MOC was just my first take at seeing how the slopes worked. Next to add under water texture. Thanks! ~Thoy

Very cool. :) But why are there pools at resorts? they lay 10 feet of the beach!
This was asked on My WIP MOC too. My best answer: So people can swim in fresh water and still hear the sound of the waves. Apart from knowing that pools beside beaches are quite common, I have no other explanation :) Thanks ~Thoy
What's there not to like? Nothing really. I was amazed by the scale of this resort. I like the style of the house and how it narrows all the way to the top. The pool is fantastic, and so are the resting chairs next to it. The beach is the place to go for long walks...to watch the blooming flowers or the waves. They're amazing. Congratulations on this MOC.
WOW! I`m speachless, I adore it! The pool is a great addition to the building, I think I need to try my hand at one. I have tryed to build a full on funished house recently, but I don`t have the parts I need nor the money for BL. The only thing with this is there are no shower. O.O Stunning MOC. -Brick
BEAUTIFUL!!! Oh its gorgeous! And massive! I want to go relax there so badly! Loving your improv on the light issue, resolved perfectly and adds a lovely hint of colour to the tops of them too! Your blue tiled pool and sea look stunning. And I never imagined it would be modular and kitted out with furniture! Loving your tap design on the groovy bar, got any Monteith's Summer Ale on tap?
