The "Hand of Fate" (SHIP wip part 3)
Ship wip part 3
About this creation
This is My wip, as some of you know I have been working on it slowly over a long period of time. My latest snag has been a lack of pieces. I have tentatively settled on a name for my SHIP the “Hand of Fate” The Hand of Fate was meant to be a frigate and although it is the size of some Lego capital ships its really on the smaller side for a frigate if you look at it compared to a mini fig. That being the case I am calling it a surgical strike frigate The Hand of Fate is small, fast and capable of atmospheric flight also the hanger enables it to either carry a starfighter or act as a heavily armed dropship.

You really nailed the details on this ship. The way the cockpit has a "hunter" look, the guns sticking out the sides, and the cockpit all prove you are a master builder. Well done.

Dude, this is awesome! What a massive ship, love the dinosaur shaped hull. Very menacing! Lovely interior, too. Someone mentioned the asymmetry, well, I think it looks kinda cool. Like it´s been customised, or repaired. Keep it up! ~Cheers

It's just a regular spiral staircase, originally from the harry potter sets I think.

Bulk is very good in this case... One problem I have is the name: Hand of Fate sounds like a warship's name, but this looks like a cargo freighter or something. Anyways, very nice.

Quoting nitrobenz 13G Impressive! I love the chunky aesthetic of the exterior and the interior details are some of the best I've seen. I like your idea for a one fighter hangar or a dropship bay, gives it some nice versatility, I would like to see both configurations set up in there. A few questions: Since it is sitting on its belly, Are there underside details? If it's atmo capable are you going to add landing gear? How long is it now? (studs, inches, or cm) Are you considering extending or adding a second hangar as the project progresses?
Well originally I wasn’t going to give it underside details or landing gear, but after your comment not having those things started to bother me. So now it has retractable landing gear (not easy for a ship of this size and weight) and underside detail. As of last time I checked I think it was around 130 studs long and no I don’t expect to add another hanger I would like to wrap this project up since I have been working on it off and on for about 3 years.

Quoting Shadowa Heartfelt Is it alright with you if I make "Hand of Fate" CG? w/o the studs in a 3D Modeling program? I love the design and I could try to get it to look exactly like this. Is this alright with you?
Sure its fine with me.

Quoting Tommy Kegler Hey, I saw your last WIP and the washrooms were great, along with that storage room. I was only wondering: did you keep the washrooms and storage room? Anyhow, GREAT work!!!!! The best I've seen, and it's not even finished yet!! :D The guns are absolutely awesome!! I love the interior!!!!!
yes the washrooms, storage room, elevator to the hanger, armory, and workshop are all still there they make up blue deck. The decks from bottom to top are yellow deck (the hanger deck) blue deck (the one with the washrooms) and red deck (the one pictured in this post)

Some people say to me some times, "you still play with lego?!". Well, let me tell you! Ocne you get to the point were you make your own stuff with your lego, other than the sets, its not "playing" anymore!! xD Great job with this, Now I would go into as much detail in this comment as you did with your pics, but this comment would end up being to long! I'll just say, I love it all, and you'll just have to believe me. :)

Looks like it'll be great when it's finished, but just to add my .02 NZD to this conversation, I'd say a more appropriate class for this would be 'corvette'. Sort of half way between a heavy bomber and a frigate.

  November 8, 2010
Quoting .The Being Called J.™©® And you call THAT small?!?! What's big to you?!?!
Well I meant relatively small for a frigate. Look at it this way if you take a mini fig and compare it to my ship and then you compare a person to say the millennium falcon you will see that the Hand of Fate is only slightly bigger than the millennium falcon and is thus to small to fit into the frigate class. Just to clarify I'm talking about the move version of the millennium falcon not the Lego version and as a side note star ship classes tend to get distorted when built in Lego so my frigate may be bigger than someone else's capital ship.

Quoting Matty Mason Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! It's awesome! The incredible amount of detail on this is staggering, and the red really works well with the vessel! And there's even a spiral staircase!
What you may not be able to see from the pictures is that the staircase does not only connect the upper bridge with the lower bridge but also connects the whole second floor (that is not in the pictures) which can be accessed ether by the stairs or by a hatch at the back of the mess hall.

Quoting Sebeus I Very nice, oh what an extended interior, I love it, hmmm, from the front picture it seems it's not completely symmetrical, was that on intention ?
No, the right side of the front just hasn't been finished yet. The front will be symmetrical, other parts of the ship however wont be, those parts just cant be seen from the pictures I took.
