The Technic Ferrari GT4 four door concept car is based on the 8145 set, but I added Power Functions to create a rc car. To show how the pf works, I edited and posted a movie. When you watch the movie, the action gets better and better. Don't forget to turn the music loud.
About this creation

During my time on the university I followed a Automotive Design course, together with other Industrial Design students. We worked together and redesigned the Ferrari 599 GTB model into a four door sports coupé.

The main assignment was to redesign an existing car. We were brainstorming about creating a totally new bodyworks for a Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, Mercedes-Benz sportscar etc. Eventually we chose the Ferrari and redesigned it in six weeks until we got the four door sports coupé.

As a result of our research we discovered that there is a craze for four door sports coupés and that the year 2010 stands for sporty four door coupés! If the numbers are correct, the amount of four door coupés will only grow untill and most likely also beyond 2020.

We added some elements of four door coupés of other brands on our Ferrari design. The building instructions of the Ferrari 599 GTB were downloadable and I had enough parts to build it. I didn't hesitate and immediately built the Ferrari GT4 sports coupé in under six weeks.

Because I already had plans for creating a rc controlled scale model of a car from Lego components, I added Power Functions. When I inserted the pf components, the chassis looked like it was covered in spaghetti. The model actually really became a spaghetti car.

Ferrari 599 GT4 Power Functions content:
- extended chassis
- extended amplitude (2 x 5 mm)
- extended roof
- wheel frames with springs
- two seats behind
- two rear doors
- Power Functions RC receiver
- 1 PF medium motor for steering
- parking brake
- 4 PF medium motor for rear wheel drive
- 6 battery accupack in the truck
- lightswitch
- headlights
- taillights

Removed objects from original Lego Technic Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano:
- V12 engine
- manual central steering axle

I didn't buy the original Lego 8145 set to build the Ferrari 599 GT4 model. I collected every single component from other Lego sets. That's also why I didn't use any stickers.

Congratulations on the car, and found a fantastic hiistória assembling! One question: if I buy the LEGO TECHNIC 599 GTB FIORINO + LEGO Functions Power Functions IR Speed Remote Control 8879 + LEGO Functions Power Functions IR RX 8884 + LEGO Power Functions Train Motor 88002 + LEGO Technic Power Function Accessory box 8293, these parts are compatible with this model of Ferrari? You must buy all these pieces for the car to have a remote control? Thank you!

Hoi Siddhart, exellent car you made and long live the RC. You gave the car so much extra. Your project turnout to be very very nice. You should be proud of your self. Nice vid also. Very well done. Welk programma gebruik je voor het maken van de video? En o ja, de foto's op mijn pagina zijn weer normaal. Mocpages is herstellende. Groet, Ludo

Thanx dude! About the degree of appreciation: maybe this creation is not placed under the attention of a lot of people enough. Maybe I need another way of how to attract more people.

Thanks dude! I'm sorry about the fact, that the video is blocked in Germany. A lot of people in Germany would've liked it.
Quoting Sven Bode & Jens Matuschek Regardingthe Lamborghini "Estoque" concept, Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemolo once said that there will be Ferrari with 2+2 seats...but NEVER with 4 doors. He might change his mind when taking a look at your concept! It shows a remarkable good design despite its length. Did you try the challenge rims on her? ... The video: well, it's blocked in Germany due to copyright reasons (W*F?!) Sorry, but I know it's perfect ;-) Greetings, Jens

Quoting Bonald 1101 I cannot believe I missed this one! Very nice! By the way, is it travelling at actual speed all through the video?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Good question, I didn't come up with that. Sometimes yeah...sometimes nah...but it's video, and I use to slow the video down and build up speed during the sequence. If you'll build something like it, you'll notice that the actual speed is common for a RC of that size, maybe slower though, because hill climbing will be troublicious. That's why you see the RC driving downhill during the ending part of the video.

Quoting Armaan Ujra Very good MOC you have here. I have my reservations about 4-door Ferraris, but this is a very well executed imaginary vehicle, especially with its various functions. Keep it up! P.S: Would you mind giving me your e-mail address? I have a few questions I would like to ask you.

Quoting Victor ruiz cool.though i think that you should stick to the 2 door style on ferraries.anyway nicely done
Yeah, Ferrari admits that Ferrari stands for 2 door styeld sports cars and if you want to drive a 4 door car, you have to buy a Maserati. Maybe I think that I'll reduce this RC car to a 2 door scale model, when I'll build something else for a chase or something.

Quoting R. H. That thing looks fast for a Lego RC! It's very sleek for a 4-door. But what do you have against pinecones?
No I love pinecones, especially when there's a camp fire or barbe-Q. Sometimes they burn better than wood itself...I wanted to ram the Ferrari through a pile of...something, because that looks tough. Those pinecones were the only chunky stuff I found over there.
