I spent a few weeks on this MOC; this is my first micro-scale, and I'm pretty proud of myself. It's of a sort of Ancient mythological Greek city, obviously not real.
About this creation
Well, the photos are in varying order, but here are the 49 photos I took. Count 'em for fun if you want. You can see some places where I sort of ran low on either bricks or inspiration; in the complete middle of the city I got a bit lazy. You'll notice the mountain that the temple and statue of Hades cuts off while Zeus's doesn't. The reason for this would be I thought of the idea of cutting off as if continuing farther back hit me after I built the mountain.
The city is on an island I suppose, though this is only the main port/cutoff of the city itself. This is where the main temples and statues to the original three gods lay. As you can see, Poseidon is placed neatly behind the docks for sailors leaving and returning to pay tribute, pray for a safe and prosperous journey, give thanks for a safe journey, etc. The statue itself is, or I should say, would be created from marble and the base from a mixture of Granite and sea rock. Trident would be probably marble too, though in this case encased in gold. The Lego Atlantis relic you see there was the result of wanting to place something in the Sea god's left hand though had nothing else to put into it. In the port is a dock, the building with the gem in it is the "Ocean Sapphire Inn & Tavern", and then of course there is a large store/exchange beside the temple. On the far right (from the MOC's point of view) is one of the larger manors; follow the docks farther and you'll come upon a town that mostly worships Poseidon, Hephaestus, Demeter, Aphrodite, and Dionysus. On the water you'll see the famed "Watchtower of Eisen". The trireme "Ocean's Fury" is setting off for one thing or another, while a simple fishing boat prepares to enter port.
Zeus is placed, of course, on the highest point of the city for all to see. The statue would be made of the purest marble, as would the temple. On the plateau would be residence for mostly the priests. Larger manors and houses would be along the hill and into a segment of the island that worships Zeus, Hera, Hermes, Apollo, and Artemis.
The idea for Hades to be inside the center of the mountain was another idea that came as I was building, though like, like I said, while I was building and not after it was done. It was originally to be on top of the mountain, though it turned out fine inside. You'll see outlining the mountain are homes, or the outside of them. Most of them connect through the mountain, though they are in no way curses of sunlight or whatever. They come out as often as other residents of the island would be. The segment that worships Hades and Ares lie to the northeast, literally right by those who worship Zeus. All the cities interconnect and all the cities have at least one statue of every god/goddess.
