Excavior Class Battleship (18th DSF)
Entry for the 18th's Battleship contest, and an excuse to build something.
About this creation
Stud Length: 37
Crew: 550
Class: Battleship
Weighting: Standard
Weapon Count: 29
Engine Count: 1(main) 2(Secondary)
Role: Offense

The Excavior class battleship is a formidable sight, armed with the latest in direct and indirect weaponry. Its primary cannon is almost the same size as its bridge and features a separate command hub to keep itself operational. In addition to the main gun, two smaller twin cannons are located underneath the ship, along with eight anti-fighter guns. On the surface of the Excavior there are ten more cannons along with two anti-fighter guns flanking the bridge. Also the ship feature four large rocket launchers which fire swarms of rockets, found behind the main gun. Lastly, the ship also features two missile launcher at the front most portion of the bow, capable of launching nuclear warheads.

I suppose you want to see it huh?

Lastly the "COP" version which was just the design phase before adding colour, but I liked the grey look so I didn't change much, although I did remove the observation dome.

This is a beauty for sure, really good microscale! The colour scheme really pops, and there are some lovely details. The foreward turret and bridge section are highlights for me, but it's just a sweet MOC!

To be brutally honest, I was rather unimpressed with the design once I hit the meat of the build. But the more I scrolled through the pictures, the more I liked what I saw. Namely, the underside, the sensor/comm array, and the fore turret. Beautiful.

Ah, yes, finally, a space battleship that follows the battleship-patern, but still makes sence for space! I like it!

A finely crafted vessel I must say. The overall shape and weapons compliment came out very well. The only things I would add would more details to the ships stats such as crew compliment, mission parameters, and the like.

Great! And nice use of older pieces! The overall shape is a bit over-used, however. Great attention to the underside, too. 4/5!

Very slick looking ship! My favorite was the amount of detail packed into the cannons. It would seem a last-ditch effort to survive the contest is in order. I'll need your address, a .45 XD(M), and a getaway car.

Quoting Parrington :----: Would love to see a GAIA battle ship like this from you some time...
I'll see if I can make that happen next time I'm building, but I don't think that it will quite reach the size of yours, but hey size isn't everything...
