Early Blacktron I Cruiser

This is a cruiser I built a couple of years ago in Blacktron I colors. It included Moonbase-compatible airlocks. At the time I didn't have sufficient trans-yellow windows for the bridge, so I used a Blacktron II trans-green stand-in.
About this creation

This close-in exterior shot shows off the front turret and the hanger bay, and the airlock is clearly visible on the side. The various side-mounted weapon emplacements are visible in more detail as well (I especially liked the swivel-mounted missile pods toward the stern). Pretty much the entire top came off rather easily, allowing for interior access.

The bridge shows off the command chair design I was experimenting with, as well as the fact that at the time I was using Exploriens to represent naval crewmen and Blacktron I for marines (note the marine officer with the yellow epaulettes). Due to lack of a better option, I used black ladders in a hollow tower structure to give bridge access from the main hull.

Engineering was a bit cramped and lacked detail, relying mostly on hoses to evoke a proper sense of power generation and distribution to the engines. I like the orange Rebel Pilot flight suits for ship's engineers, but have since moved away from it.

This interior shot mostly demonstrates my use of the angled wall elements (or container pieces, in the case of many Blacktron I sets) to expand the available space. It also shows off my initial set of minifig personal weapons (I have since moved to slightly more complicated constructed weapons). Of special note is the trans-red force field door, which I used for lack of a better idea (and because I thought it fit with the official Blacktron I color aesthetic). It could slide out to reveal a Moonbase-style doorway.

Quoting Sven Swart Loving the set. I know the feeling when you don't have enough elements to achieve a certain effect. I also wish I had more Blacktron minifigs. I only have two. Love what you did with the crew members.
I've actually expanded my Blacktron I collection significantly. I'm up to something around 70+ figures now, and I've also got perhaps 10 Wrench torso and ~8 Cyborg Space Villain torso figures to flesh out my army.
