Battlestar Galactica: The Next Chapter Part 2
It has been nearly a year since the discovery of the massive Alien Battleship. But a great deal of progress has been made. At first there were many questions, and now most have been answered....It is currently in Mars Orbit.
About this creation
First, it wasn't as Alien as initially thought. In fact, the vast majority of people on Earth are their descendants, based on DNA in the ship's database. Most of the language in the Log Books and Ship Schematics have been translated, and found to be similar to many ancient Earth languages. The coordinates of the path it took to Earth have been calculated, as well as its ultimate origin from the Twelve Colonies of Kobol.

Fortunately, the fuel derived from the plentiful material in the Asteroid Belt is also compatible with the ship's systems. There were many technical hurdles, especially with the ship's Faster Than Light drive, or FTL. But understanding it and reverse engineering the technology will be a huge step for humanity.

Although the crew that discovered the Galactica attempted to claim it for themselves, International Law, written nearly eighty years ago in case of such a find, was quite specific. But the crew's Captain was able to negotiate Command of the vessel for his team, under the authority of the UN Charter.

"Alright, we're finally ready to try this! Helm, take us out of orbit.
Navigation, Report:"

"Coordinates plotted, and entered into the Nav Computer, Sir."

"Start the clock!"

"On my mark....3....2...."

"...1."

"Jump!"

"Jump complete..."
"Status?
"Getting a fix..."

"We're in Synchronous Orbit, Sir. Directly above The Canary Islands!"

"Congratulations, Team! Now let's see what this thing can do..."

Quoting Kermunklin the Giant Evil House Head Oh, so that's how the humans get FTL technology. Was that a collective groan from the rest of the universe, or was it just me. Cool stuff. Your command of photoshop or whatever program you use is impressive...the composite space scenes look truly great.
Thanks! I use Gimp editing software.

Thanks! Figured the jump key had to be a larger scale, so I went with the Technic Fig.

Thanks again. Yes, I use that a few times through the series. Thought a jump key at minifig would look silly.

Well, I actually did some improvements, specifically on the Main Batteries. Much more accurate now. You can see in the shot above Earth. I'll add some close ups to the BSG folder soon. Thanks, Dude! Christmas is a great time for full Lego immersion!

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy Ahh, fantastic as always, especially the photo editing. If you want to avoid the concentric rings from the sun (like in the first pic) you have to create them on a separate layer and then add some noise to it, not to much, just to get rid of the 20 ... single rings. You can combine the effect with a blur or a motion blur.
Those rings were already in the pic, so I didn't mess with it. Thanks for the comment!
