About this creation
For months I've been trying to make Toothless' head from How to Train Your Dragon, and I was finally able to exceed my expectations with this version.

Seeing this in person is so much better than seeing it via picture, so I will be bringing it to Brickfair next year.

I used references to make this as accurate as possible, but had to detract in certain areas due to limitations (such as the number of "fingers" on the wings).

I made this much stronger than my usual creations and it consequently gained Swooshability. That's right... SWOOSHABILITY!

This is an INCREDIBLE dragon. The movie was great and you have captured Toothless perfectly. You use those technic and bionicle pieces so well. I can't wait to see your new one. I have just gotten started on moc pages and my dragons are no where near this good. Still if you could look at them and tell me what you think I would like to know.

Quoting Aquarist Shaluub It's marvelous, but have you thought of utilizing some cloth parts (capes, for example) in the wings?
I have a newer model that hasn't been uploaded that has cloth wings. It looks great but I'm still working on it.

I saw this months back, and now I'm finally getting around to the review. The design is simply brilliant, particularly the details of the head. My single quibble is how the head seems a tad small compared to the muscular forelegs. Maybe I'm being picky. -Ben

Wow. You know, when people make creations that look like creations... Well your dragon is not a MOC at all, it's like Nnenn's Vic-Vipers, it actually stops looking like LEGO and takes on a form of it's own. You sir, have reached enlightenment, the brick does not hold you back at all.

I'm so glad you posted this here as well; Flickr just didn't give me a close enough look at how you did those magnificent eyes! The body is great, but the head makes the MOC. Most impressive was getting my wife to ooh and ahhh at it; THAT is no easy task!~H

Quoting andros tempest skeletal creatures sometimes wind up looking unfinished - but not this one. I can't believe how you've pulled off the batwing look. My only criticism would be the eyes, though green suits them they do look slightly cartoony, I'd have only suggested them with a Bionicle eye or a red stud maybe. Beyond that it is perfect.
I'm going to guess that you have not seen the movie How to Train Your Dragon. The dragon in it has round green eyes with black irises. Not triangle eyes and not red irises. The pieces I chose are actually the perfect pieces for the job.

Excellent use of pieces on the head. The Bohrak plates and the green ball-joints make for an impressive expression. Very lovely wings, too, but I would recommend trying to use some paper or fabric to give them some essence. Still, quite marvelous!
