Vigilantie, a 17th century Dutch warehouse (updated)
The "Vigilantie", Dutch for vigilance, is a warehouse built in the late 17th century in Alkmaar. One of the monuments of Alkmaar, now also in Kennemerburg weighing over 4 kg's. I decided to put this into the "Brick Architect contest" on the last minute. Don't know if I can still contibute, but I will see...
About this creation
I decided to take some outside shots to compare it to the real building.
After the photoshoot the building partly collapsed, lucky it wasn't really damaged.

Yup, the strange guy in the picture is actually me!

Kind of small next to the real thing...

After that, I went to the kitchen for some exterior shots.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the front comes off, we can see the (WORKING!)elevator and the hollow roof.

The roof is easily detachable...

And an entire floor (4th floor) comes sliding out...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time for the third floor!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now the second floor. The least, in my opinion...

I do like this lamp... Is this technique new??

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the first floor. Last but not least!

The lift system. (Znap motor an battery case)

The hallway

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some additional pics of the building...

I call this guy "Günther". He looks like the Swedish singer.

The other two buidings in the block (I do not have the pictures ready though...)

Some views of the "Vigilantie" placed inside Kennemerburg.

And well, this was my first try, but the roof was too high for the sloped roof in my room... So it didn't fit (obviously). FAIL

Fourth brick commentary:
This is my biggest post ever! So many pictures... But I just had to show all of them. I loved building this one, and the other two buildings on the block which I will post soon.
I did not write anything underneath all of the pictures because I do not have the time for that...Having a social life isn't easy when you are a LEGOŽ builder...
Hope you like it! If you do, comment! If you don't, explain it to me, so I can improve...

Very awesome building, i like the elevator, although it should be brown, not red. LOL, when i saw the mainpic i thought you had built the real buildings in the background. XD

It is a great representation of the real building but it is your interior that makes this so good. My heart skipped a beat at the last photo...hope the damage was not too bad.

I like how you actually modeled the building off of another one. Great idea and even better execution! Great work.

Mooi gedaan, prachtig interieur, de lift is zalig, ik vind wel dat het gebouw er in het echt wat breder uitzien in verhouding tot the hoogte
