About this creation

Truck 14 is a 2008 Kenworth T800W. The T800W, a variation of the T800, features the widest radiator in the industry, and it's a true heavy-haul truck. Rivaled only by the military M-1070, the T800W is used in the toughest conditions and environments, such as Alaska's Dalton Highway Haul Road. This T800W runs as Truck 14 of the Kontoules Transport fleet, and is an alternate truck for the owner's use. During the winter, this truck runs on the North Pass Haul Road, and the ice road that leads to the diamond mines in the far North. During the 2007 hauling season, a 100-ton modukar building needed to be moved North, a job that took four trucks and seven days. Truck 28 pulled the load, Truck 14 (now 12) pulled Truck 28 on inclines, Truck 16 was the primary push truck, and Truck 18 was the secondary push truck. This convinced the owner to purchase a T800W, which reduced the haul time to three days, with only one additional truck during the 2008 hauling season. A second T800W, a 2010 truck, has been ordered from Kenworth and should arrive halfway through the 2010 hauling season, and will run as Truck 10. Both trucks have Caterpillar C15 engines, full sleepers, and triaxle chassis. The third truck, which will be ordered in 2011, will replace Truck 8. It is unsure whether the truck will be a twinaxle or triaxle, or if it will be a daycab or long-haul cab.

Quoting cyberfrank 2010   wow! this thing exists for real? 6 wheels at the back? wonderous, i love all the infos you put on your trucks, this one looks good ,a little too big for city figs, but, a good shape model to reduce, i love the front rack design, there has to be a way to keep the effect while reducing,i m anxious to see your city remanagement, and your emergency stories afterwards, you have good talent for storytelling, i like your pics as well, it s always interesting to see progress in ourself and others,i ve witnessed yours, andi love it! good work james!
Well actually, this truck IS minifig scale. It is the widest truck in production, and also one of the largest. Compared to a 4-wide truck like 28, it is 28 that is less than minifig scale. And yes, this truck does exist. The rear axle closest to the cab is a support axle, hydraulically lowered when a very heavy load has to be hauled. And as for the front guard, I'm putting one on all my trucks at some point, starting with the yellow Volvo. Thanks for your kind words!
