We had no rockets and our mortar's sights had taken a bullet and they were totally useless. All we had was one mortar round.
About this creation
The German tank opened up wit its main gun and tore into our line.
Lt.John Harland: Captian that tank it tearing us apart! We need to take it down!
Captain Welsh: We have no launchers or rockets and battalion didnt resupply us with any explosives. What do you propose, lieutenant?
Cpl. Noah Nieman: I can do it, Captain.
Capt. Welsh: Explain Corporal.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: We can blow its barrel, sir. Same way easy took out those guns on
D-day. I have one grenade left, all I need are some explosives.
Lt. John Harland: Denied, soldier. I cant afford to have any heroes right now
Capt Welsh: We have no choice, lieutenant. Permission granted corporal we'll give you covering fire. Harland, get him that last mortar round he'll need it.
Lt. John Harland: Gook luck Corporal.
Capt. Welsh: There he goes! Covering fire!
And armed with incredible valor the boldest noncom I'd ever seen tore across open ground to the enemy tank.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: C'mon c'mon.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: YES!
Lt. John Harland: Good work Nieman! When we get outa Holland I will personally see to it that you make sergeant.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: You think I might be able to go home sooner, sir.
Lt. John Harland: I'm sure of it.
Immediately after I had said that a rifle round hit him in the back and he slumped over into my arms.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: AAUGH!
Lt. John Harland: Corporal Nieman! Medic! I need a medic here now!
A cloud blocked and I got a good look at his wound
Cpl. Noah Nieman: Did I take it out sir? Did I kill it?
Lt. John Harland: Yeah you took out the gun, you're hit pretty bad.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: Am I gonna die here?
Lt. John Harland: Yeah. I'm sorry. There's nothing I can do now.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: Crap.
I shook his hand as he lay dying
Lt. John Harland: For what its worth you did well. You got us out.
Cpl. Noah Nieman: Thank you, sir. I appreciate that.
Cpl.Noah Nieman: And, I stole a can of beef from the mess hall...its in my foot locker... you guys split it for me. Okay?
Lt.John Harland: Okay. Thanks.
We buried a few hundred feet away from the battle field. The funeral detail was myself and a few of his closest friends. Peterson, Olympis, and 'Leatherneck' Boyd. We put up a cross to mark his grave.
Sgt. Shane Peterson: He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright. He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight, he had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar...
All: YOU AINT GONNA JUMP NO MORE! Gory gory what a hell of way to die!
For his actions on Nov. 2nd 1944 Cpl. Noah Nieman was promoted to Sergeant and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Silver Star for bravery in combat. He still lies buried in Holland and locals sometimes leave flowers at the grave of this courageous soldier.

notes: uhhh... I need to get all this sap off my hands.
edit: I reworked the wording at Nieman's death to be less sappy and more real. I hope.
All I know is, when I got on the comp. today, it said I was invited back to the group and so i joined. I got in and posted a comment(please do read it) and when I went back to my page there was a message that I was abmin, when I went to say thank you, and sorry directly to you, I could not get in. I hope you will exept my apolagey. I have a lot of not so good things going on with me right now, and lost my temper, it will not happin again. I would also love to be let into the group, and hope we could be friends, as I love your MOCs. Again, I am sorry. Brick
Beautiful! If it had been a book I would have surely cried!!! Maybe could have been a little better written, but first person is hard, so all considered, its pretty magnificent. Usually people die crying or screaming, but I've never seen the hand shake thing before.
You did a pretty good job with this one, one of your most emotional yet. Did it say on his grave: "Another victim of famous last words"?
Any way, photography seems a little shakier than usual, but your building just keeps getting better and better! Keep up the good work, were headin' to the Bulge next! =)
