Seen here in orbit over Haven is one of the many Theta class Saber Shuttles that the independence movement of Haven would acquire for protecting the planet Haven. This was one of only two types of ships produced in Human Federation space that could accomodate the Cargonian technology of the ion weapon.
About this creation

CosmoTech Industries had released the extremely popular Sabre class shuttle - Alpha variant, then released shortly thereafter the minor Beta variant; Then, as the Sabre series aged and CosmoTech Industries needed to remain viable on the market, it released the Delta variant of the Sabre series. After a few years, it was very much so evident that the Delta variant was not going to sell. So, unwilling to abandon the series after the extreme popularity of the first model, CosmoTech released the Gamma variant. This model reawakened the love that many held for the now very old Alpha variant of the Sabre Shuttle, and was considered the penultimate model of the series. It did not sell as well as the Alpha, but it did restore CosmoTech Industries to being in the top ten space ship manufacturing companies in operation.
Unwilling to let go of the Sabre Shuttle series, CosmoTech Industries designers returned to the drawing board, and began to overhaul the classic shuttle, incorporating new technologies and new advances in space flight. What they created was the Theta variant of the Sabre Shuttle.
When first released, both critics and the public alike were quick to scoff at the shuttle and CosmoTech. The media made snide remarks pertaining to “sabre rattling”, by CosmoTech Industries, as well as other derisive remarks of CosmoTech lacking imagination and innovation. However, the Theta - which would be the last of the Sabre shuttles - was fortuitously released a year before the dawn of the Earth/Cargonian war. While too busy being snide, the critics and the public alike failed to notice that the Theta class shuttle was a near masterpiece in space flight.
Those familiar with the Sabre series were quick to acquire the Theta, and were not at all displeased with this powerful craft. Once again, CosmoTech Industries walked a fine line between the definition of civilian and pseudo-military in how much firepower the Theta variant was equipped.
One year after its release, the Cargonians invaded the mining planet of Taurus. The Federation was quick to secure the core worlds of the Federation, but largely ignored the pleas of the border worlds asking for help and for defenses. As the border colonies realized that no help was coming from the Federation, they took to illegally organizing their own planetary militias. Since the Sabre shuttles were almost illegally armed, they made a natural choice of ship to purchase from the civilian market in the hopes of avoiding detection by Federation law enforcement. The Theta began to sell by the hundreds. In a matter of a month, millions of border world colonists rediscovered the Theta variant, and found the salvation of their worlds in this spectacular craft.
In a period of three months, nearly every Theta variant shuttle from the first production run was sold, following the invasion of Taurus. The Theta variant was quick, agile, had the furthest range of any shuttle before it, and sported four laser cannons as well as increased cargo space. Additionally, years into the war, border militias were able to equip the Theta variant with their own back-engineered variation of the Cargonian ion weapon. Through the entire war, the Theta variant would be the only ship in the Human Federation to ever be equipped with an ion weapon, thanks to the ingenuity of border world colonists and the versatility of the Theta variant.

Ambassador Groenwold’s father was instrumental in bringing the Terran Conflict to a peaceful end some 40 years prior to the Earth-Cargonian War. Even though Victor now finds himself an ambassador and peace negotiator, much like his famous father, during a time of peace, he knows that his role is vital to the Human Federation. Unlike other ambassadors who are assigned a post to a single consulate, Victor is dispatched by the Federation Senate to whatever “hot spot” they have need of someone to find a peaceful solution to a situation that either could lead to, or has led to, violence.
Victor’s role in the Earth-Cargonian War did not actually begin until the fifth year of the conflict. The Federation Senate had voted to enforce the Falconate Kingdom’s financial contribution to the Federation; the war was beginning to tax the Federation’s resources, and the Falconate Kingdom had not paid taxes nor contributed any resources in two decades - with the war on, it was decided that this situation needed to change. The Federation ambassador to the Orval System was ordered to begin pressuring the monarchy into contributing once again. That ambassador had long felt that the people of the Orval System were, “backwater bumpkins, mired in intelligence and thinking as archaic as their social system.”
When the monarchy intercepted this transmission, they were less than pleased. Their response was to behead the ambassador, and send his head back to the Federation with a request that the Senate send a replacement who was, “more intelligent, and more open minded to the different cultures of different worlds.”
Thus, Victor was reassigned to the Orval System, bringing with him his long time body guard, Jonathan Drake, and his long time aide, Elizabeth Bunting. Sadly, the Federation senate ineptly ordered the assassination of the royal family six months later. The two sons of the royal family survived the attack, easily discovered who ordered it, and declared war on the Human Federation - thus beginning the Dark Crusade. Ambassador Groenwold and his staff were successful in escaping the system aboard a Theta class Saber Shuttle (behind them).

Quoting J-MAN N Look! It's Dr. Jones! Great ship. However, the wings could be a little less 'studdy'.
Yep, one of those glaring errors you don't see until its up there on the big screen. Well, time to take a stab at version two of this MOC.
