RING can be an acronym, or the shape of the outside of the fighter.
About this creation
The RING can be an acronym, not a terribly great one, or if you don't like that, it's the shape of the outside.

.Ruction- disturbance, uproar
.Initial- placed at the beginning
.Nuclear- being a weapon whose destructive power derives from an uncontrolled nuclear reaction
.Gambit- a calculated move : stratagem
Strike Fighter

The RING Strike Fighter is a non-atmospheric fighter... capable of carrying two nuclear missles on the frame (RING)... RING gives heavy thrust and speed...

This fighter was based off of some drawings I did when I was in a math class. I think the idea came unconciously from the hyper drive ring on the jedi starfighter. But anyway, when the summer came, I discovered the drawings in the back of my notebook, and decided to try building it. Like everything I seem to build, it turned out smaller than I imagined, but that was due to the lack of the joint pieces I had to make the ring. I was very happy at the way this came out. Except, I dislike the pictures I took, 1. I need a easier to use camera, the one I use is like trying to get toothpaste back into the tube. 2: They just don't show the fighter very well.
