I'm sure I'm not alone in randomly snapping pieces together in the search for inspiration when doing something difficult.
About this creation

Here is a little collection of those random things we all make when the going gets tricky. Feel free to comment, and tell me which is your favourite.

Above is a little build table vignette with a 1970s homemaker (maxifig) figure. Regular visitors to my homepage will recognize the car on the floor..

Below is a little spaceship built purely as an excuse to use a red canopy I had lying around..



Snotted and greebled.. jargon is good!



A robust Technic buggy with working steering and long travel suspension. This fell down the stairs once.. it only lost the rear wing and front panel!



A minifig scale child's scooter..



A six wide police car..



.. with working suspension and everything opens..



A generic classic space land buggy. Build time 2 minutes..



The dumper truck illustrated on the box of the 850 Fork Lift set, made to work properly using only pieces from that set and driven by a Maxifig..



..trouble is he needs longer arms to reach the lever to pull the bucket back up.



As you can see, these lack the detail and care of some of my more elaborate creations but they are not without charm.

"they are not without charm" -> agreed ! All are cute and would be a masterpiece for many builders. Love the police car in particular, timeless classic design :-)

Quoting El Barto ! Welcome to the club! I just tried to un-yellow a bunch of old white pieces, with no luck.
Hydrogen Peroxide is supposed to work wonders though I haven't tried it.

i can definitely relate to the canopy thing, as most of the time, parts inspires my creations, and i love all of those, and your comment on this is so true! they all have that special nick touch of functionality, and nostalgia, my fav, hasto be the police car, but, i m also quite fond of the yellow dumper! great work nick!

Ha, cool! Love all the old school stuff and the great suspension of the buggy. Cover pic is great as well. "LEGOs playing with LEGOs, how pervers!" (Ok itīs stolen from SW EP2) :-P

I have 3 of them from days of old and have even started ordering a few more parts. Like you indicated, can't have enough arm parts. Hard to choose a favorite. The ship is fetching, the scooter wins the cute contest, the various technic functionalities satisfy what we demand from you. But I'm gonna go with the lead one, as it gives insight into how a builder goes about his business. And I'm curious what the wall hanging is!

Good little experiments. None are brilliant, but as small builds they do the job - and although they're not like your epic large builds they're actually better than most peoples' 'big' MOCs on this site!
