LegoSpacy Inc. has commissioned a remake of a classic. Their design and building philosophy is to use only the extant parts allocated to the Mark I model. That is, no importation of extra parts, and every piece would be maximally utilized. No frills, and with the thought that this version would replace the Mark I which are being phased out. For this model, extensive modifications were made to enable all the wings to move. Another major change would be the restructuring of the command pod to make it more sturdier. The pod "clamps" was redesigned to be tighter. Overall, the craft was made sleeker and smoother in general profile.
About this creation
Top profile. Note the mating of the boosters of the first and second components. Wing profiles are different from the MkI.
Top view with all wings folded.
Clamp assembly. It's tighter to hold the mobile base in place.
All three components separated.
Side profile with all three separated.
Note the sleeker profile of the first component.
Boosters can be fired to maximum capacity as opposed to the limitations of the MkI's boosters not being able to do so because of faulty wing design.
Mobile base interior. Quite roomy for two passengers. Standing room only for three. Futuron guests inspecting. Rumor has it that they plan to design their own command ship that can compete with the MkIs and even with the IIs.
Another shot of the interior. The panoramic screen is now attached to the base structure.
Nice shot of the MkII. Fergy the technician says hi!
Quoting Mister Bones
The playabilty aspect of this is excellent!
I had that in mind.
By the way, there seems to be no Dune theme in mocpages as I tried to find something like an ornithopther. Correct me if I'm wrong. Planning to make one 'thopter, LDD and a real one.
