On the cover- people from the KOCKICE club - and here we are in Copenhagen, Denmark and look what's driving next to us :) . Anyways I've been building this thing for months now. I think I started it 5 months ago and slowly it was growing to be the monster you now see (70 cm in length). What can I say? I am back with the PF motors. The funny thing - the base was build in about 4 hours. Not a very complicated structure all in all (last pictures). Just a one speed movement, steering and that's it. The problem was will this all move as I build the whole thing and surprisingly it did. I had my doubts because it is pretty heavy but I am amazed at what that XL motor can really do if connected well.
As for the non-LEGO parts yeah I use these but I use only what I make on my own. That goes for the windshield, the design and print of all stickers, the accordion cover in the middle etc.
One last thing. I have to apologize for the video. This is actually my first one posted on the web and I am not experienced with these things. In fact after it was filmed in an amateur way I grabbed hold of iMovie software for the first time in my life and the result is this. More videos of how doors work, less of steering and the driving. But I believe you get the picture.
I wanted to make the bus that looks like the real european low floor bus and I believe I have succeeded in that, otherwise you wouldn't be seeing it here at all. What you think about it you are very welcome to spell out for me.
About this creation
I thought it would be kind of cool to put an add that would present my club called KOCKICE from Croatia. I mean this is the bus after all and buses often have adds of all kind.
This is the part of the roof of the bus that has it's use on the real bus. I think it's the air conditioner but I don't know really. I suppose. I use it as a cover for the bus doors pneumatic controller
This is what you can see when you open those doors. From the left side there is C doors, B doors and A doors with the driver.
The engine. I thought I'd spice it up a bit around the real PF Xl engine.
Here is everything opened and I mean everything! The real trouble to build was this part. The opening doors and roof. I wanted to do doors that would not be connected to the floor because I wanted the roof to open so I can reach the interior any time I wanted to. It was hard to do since the whole mechanism is in the roof. All pneumatics and one medium PF engine to run it + a switch. But as you can see it works. The doors are connected only to the roof and they work that way.
Here is everything opened + the interior
The funny thing about the base was when I first tested it. I built it so the B wheels are the drive wheels. Silly me I thought that was so in reality. It seemed logical to me at the time. Only later when I already built 70% of it I came across some blueprints and realized that the C wheels, the trailer wheels were the movers. I didn't have the nerves to build it all over again just to change the drivetrain so I left it like it was. Anyways I turned the battery on and put my finger on a remote and the damn thing started on fast but the whole front of the bus was in the air and I couldn't steer. The reason for that you can only imagine. The base of the bus was light and the base of the trailer was packed with the Xl engine and battery box. Too heavy. It all leveled when I built the rest of the bus.

Is it going to be on EXPO 2011?
Oh, yes. Definitely. Just like all of my models done after the kockice expo- All except the 3S bus which pieces I need in order to do a much better model.
Huge, beautiful and so realistic ! All that motorized functions... Really one of the best Lego Bus, you're playing at the same level than Firas, well done !

Hahahahaha, Thanx man! You better believe that you'll see it live. Just wait for the next EXPO... if you can wait that much but fear not I got more aces at my sleeve. :))
For me, this is your "the best" model ever...

Nice job! What did you use for the black part in the middle?
Thanx for the comment. As for the middle part look at the Marvin G's articulated bus as well and you will perhaps get the better picture of it. A piece of paper bended over the right way. ;)
This is amazing! There's no other way to describe it, you managed to get the doors to open like a bus, it drives and steers like a bus, in other words it IS a bus! Nice work -Lewis
That bus is great! The working doors, steering and drive-ability are excellent. The windows and paint scheme are well done, and the 'photoshop' of it onto the street is good aswell.
Spectacular creation!
It´s just enough blocky to bear your "mark", -but not as blocky as you normally build. The frontpage photo is really good; it looks very real. The printed commercials on the sides looks realistic too. Mechanical details and functions are impressive. (Excellent mix of technic and estethics)
