The detailing is amazing! The only thing for me is that the bottom isn't smooth, but its still great.

Wow! This is amazing! I've never seen a Lego fighter that was true to scale while incorporating most of the opening panels and engine position shifts. My only issue is something you can't fix- the LDD instructions take forever to load!! 5 stars definitely!

Very nice, looks good. By the way for the main landing gear on mine, I used some little black technic knob wheels as gears. One was stationary (as in it couldn't turn) and the other was attached to the landing gear so that as it came out, the gears meshed and the landing gear rotated.

Thanks, Scott. As some have pointed out, the model is a little to long, but I don't have the skill to make it shorter while still getting all the functions to work (with parts on LDD, anyway).

I actually forgot about that, that was installed after I saw how silly the original fan was (that little 3 bladed propeller) If you see the engine piece in the 7th pic, it has 2, 2x2 tiles on the studs on top that make it just tight enough to stay in place. A couple drops of Elmers will help, mabey.

Really nice plane, it is vary acurate, I should know, I was at a musium 2 days ago that had one. I like how you made it have all the working parts the real thing has, that's how I build my MOCs too, though so far I only have one that is a plane. I am amazed that you managed to fit the internal weapons bay with every thing else you added. I can see why this made the front of MOC Pages.

I just downloaded the LDD model of the plane and as I went through the instructions I noticed that they didn't have the VTOL engine in the mid-section of the plane. So what I want to know is how do you attach that part?

Very, VERY impressive... I love the thrust vectoring, and the way EVERYTHING moves, especially the edges of the wings. I always thought the cocpit was a bit bulgier, but what ever. Like I said, very nice job. =)

Thanks for noticing Steffen, that's exactly how I like to build my models, why my models are slightly out of proportion to ensure every function works like it does on the real aircraft. Iv'e seen your KAAI F-90 "Cyclone" before and it's perfect.

Hey Joshua, I´m really impressed by your aircraft and the techniques you use, and also by all the functionality you include in your models (flaps and slats, movable rudders, retractable landing gear, etc.). Functionality (and thus playability) and realism matter a lot to me, too. So I´m very pleased to see that a few other builders, just like you, seem to follow those same principles for the conception of aircraft models. Love your F-35! Best regards, Steffen

Yes, Iv'e seen way better engine nozzles on other large aircraft models (like Mr. Mike Fifer's F-35B, 15th & 16th pic down) & has been the models "eewww" part, but will fix.

The only thing I'm not sure about on this is the wheel+tire for the main engine nozzle. It works but looks kinda lazy. Otherwise this is a really great build, very detailed and lots of working functions. The flaps, the VTOL mode, everything looks as accurate as possible at this scale.

I believe I have the LDD file for this model on the page of my fisrt F-35B (with pics of this model off of LDD). Your more then happy to help yourself to it. And no, this is the Marine variant to replace the Harrier.

Dude this is my favorite aircraft by far and i have seen a lot. Dude you realy need to show how you built this because this is good. Plus it's one of the greatest jet fighter's built.=D By the way i love airplanes and i have a RC airplane.=D I also have a book of 3'000 aircraft.

OMG... I did spell it "Martian" I'm a loon. And yes the fuselage is a little long, only because I tried to fit the landing gear folding foward behind the weapons bay, which itself is big to make the weapons in scale, & the bay being behind the lift fan bay. It's not perfect, but fairly close.

More impressive in person? I don't believe you, this is GREAT!!! I love the detail such as the landing gear, weapon bay, opening cocpit and the mini fig inside. I agree with the fuselage being a bit long though. Anyway, GREAT WORK!!!

The fuselage itself looks a little too long to me, but the wings look right and the various functions (moving flaps, opening weapons bay, retracting landing gear, etc.) really make this a nice model. By the way, the company is named "Lockheed Martin," there's no martians involved.
