Heroes?
I wanted to do something that made you think. So, I made this Cade-esque MOC, about questioning things we usually don't.
About this creation
So, should we start making movies where in the end, the hero dies? We've seen this is 'No Country for Old Men'. In the end our money, stealing protagonist dies and the antagonist gets away. The movie left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't like it. I wanted the classic movie logic to apply. I mean if your watching the main character getting beaten up in act 1 you know by the end of act 3 he'll be on top, he'll get his girlfriend back, and/or kill the bad guy. It happens in all movies, and we all expect it. As a result, I thought that movie was horrible. So, should we keep this logic going? In retrospect, this logic seems cheesy and stupid, but it comes through in alot of things. But we expect it so much, that when we don't get it we are not satisfied with it and/or feel the movie or story is not complete. This logic does make for a good story, but does it happen too much?

Wait, so stealing money makes you a protagonist? Granted, from that perspective, it is the more 'heroic' of the two extremes. Still, however, the point still stands: Were any of them really 'good guys', or were they just antagonists with different shades of light spread over them?

Quoting Manqué (Cade) That means you saved the wooden pole in the middle for me, right? XD
Yep, that huge, long pole.... Well, then that means you might have already died.

Quoting Christian Collins I agree with Cade. Is that me tied to a post, YAY!
Yeah, I had your sig-fig laying around left over from the 'Burn Machine' (Remember that old chestnut?) and I just put him on a wooden post. XD

Quoting Manqué (Cade) Don't you feel those "Sacrifice myself for the greater good" endings are kind of getting old? They need more plot in the killing of hero's. They also need more sequels to movies like "I am Legend" taking place after he sacrifices himself.
Yeah, I thought the I Am Legend ending was really stupid.

Logic is for the close-minded. Exploration of possibilities is for the revolutionary. Yet, if we explore the boundaries of this logic, we find the happy medium. The hero must die in some way (not always literally), but must come through in the end and show that determination is what lives on. You don't have to be a martyr to succeed. You need spirit and something to fight for. I rest my case.

Quoting Manqué (Cade) Cade-esque. Haha. But I agree, depending on the type of movie and what the director is really going for. If you're going for a twist ending, then perfect. I like the kind of endings where the hero dies and leaves you extremely angry with the antogonist.
I agree 100%.
